Nintendo Switch

Tried to scroll back for the last few pages to see if there was a post relevant to this, but couldn't find anything.

My Switch prompted me to download updates for my joycons recently, and since then I've been getting lag and occasional disconnection from my right joycon. Nothing has changed in terms of my living room setup. Anyone else experiencing this? It's happening with both pairs of joycons I own. Any ideas/advice?

DQXI by a million miles.

You weren’t wrong . I haven’t played OT but I picked up DQ11S and it’s an absolute joy . Doubly so when you can play  it sprawled one the sofa with match of the day on in the background .

I’m used to getting the extreme sandisk cards for my GoPro, does the rating make a difference with the switch?

Not really. The Switch itself is the bottleneck in speed, apparently. So long as it's UHS-I they're all pretty much the same.

Just avoid unbranded ones.

EDIT: might be of use?

Playing through this myself atm, trying to get it done before Tokyo Mirage drops on Friday, it's pretty good, but I have had some parts where it forces you to run from one part of a town to another, then back, and back again about 3 times, it's probably only a 2 minute run if not less, but it's infuriating and was a low point in the game.

The lite can't be hacked at all for now. Some group claims to have developed a method - that hasn't been released yet and it seems to be a hardware method so not really ideal.

Nintendo seem to have improved their system security quite a lot this time round.

If you want homebrew on the switch you need the old model (not the newer revised one) of the full fat switch. on old firmware.

I am hoping there's a nice hack in the future, but they could get around most of my want for that by releasing the DC library in drips and drabs.

I would love this on Switch:

  • Power Stone Collection
  • Crazy Taxi
  • Rez
  • Space Channel 5
  • Jet Set Radio
  • Skies of Arcadia
  • PSO (no chance)
  • Chu Chu Rocket
  • MSR or PG Racing
  • Headhunter
  • Zombie Revenge
  • Dynamite Cop/Die Hard Arcade

OK, I'll go back to shouting at clouds now.

Argh, looks like I have joycon drift on my left controller.

Was only having a quick blast in Witcher 3 but there was the odd time when Geralt seemed to go off on his own to the left.

Will take a proper look tonight and look at recalibration and see what's what.

When folk talk about spraying contact cleaner in the stick area is WD40 ok?

Are Nintendo charging for repairs still?

sure this must have been asked before in the preceding 1500 pages, but what is the cheapest way to get my Switch on a 2nd tv in the house - don't want to move my main dock & power cable and don't want to stump up the full price for a Nintendo dock and power brick.

anybody done this recently ?

ta.

I have this dock. It works, and is cheap (under £20): https://www.amazon.co.uk/Adapter-Nintendo-Converter-Macbook-Samsung/dp/B078RZQJ8D

I also have this dock. It also works, but is a little more (under £30): https://www.amazon.co.uk/innoAura-Nintendo-Multiport-Converter-Charging-Grey/dp/B07F436JT6/

You can't skimp on the power brick - bite the bullet and get another Nintendo one (£25) otherwise you risk bricking your console:
