And then when they add Wii to the catalogue, in 2029, maybe they’ll add Excite Truck, such an underrated game.

Imagine that with a £79.99 Nintendo Switch Online™ Wii Remote and Nunchuck bundle that sells out in 4 seconds.

Wave Race may look a little rough around the edges now but that feeling of fighting the waves has still never been bettered, it’s sublime.

I’ve got the N64 controller but seems to not register left/right inputs occasionally when turning in this, not sure if a pad or software issue as never noticed before

Yep, just had a quick go and it's actually incredible how well it stands up for a game from that period. The course design and how it jives with the changing wave landscape makes it feel as fresh as it did when I first powered it up. God I'd love to see a new one.

Very happy Wave Race 64 has been released. Just Excitebike 64 to go to complete the N64 racing trilogy.

What about 1080? :quote:

How does Wave Race feel on a Pro controller? This could tempt me to get the N64 expansion at last.

I've got an 8bitdo Pro 2 and its great on that. Not as great as the N64 controller would be, but still feels nice and tight

Obviously YMMV but I was pleasantly surprised at how natural it felt

Does wave race support rumble?

If not its as criminal an oversight as fzeroX omitting it, the original racing in both games was added to no end by the feel you got for the terrain you were traversing through the rumble feedback.

It doesn’t.

Heart sank when playing Wave Race 64… Maybe it’s because I’m playing with my Pro controller, and my TV isn’t this year’s model, but it felt… Off. Like every response I saw on screen was half a second behind my gentle nudges in controller. Didn’t play for long. :(

I completely forgot about that. I got the racing trinity mixed up and thought F-Zero was part of it when of course it was the three sports games.

Bloody nintendo!

Means I still have to keep hold of my n64 and controllers.....did the wii U version include rumble support?

No. But neither the PAL or NTSC Wave Race 64 had rumble support and Nintendo aren't adding any extras like that with the VC.

Have you got someone who can shake your chair at appropriate moments?

Seemed perfectly fine to me and I played my n64 copy earlier.

There was a rumble version of Waverace 64 released in Japan. It also feature some altered music such as this one for Sunny beach...
