No idea if it's better, @Shimmyhill. I bought the controller to pair with a BlueRetro N64 Controller Receiver, and don't have the pricier Switch sub but do have Super Mario 3D All Stars.

Oh and just incase you’ve not been keeping too much of an eye on the world of Switch, there have been steadily growing rumblings re a Switch pro / 2 for some time now, and it’s sure to happen sometime. As much as the Switch is a cracking machine with some great games on it, more and more reviews sadly mention performance issues so it might be a good idea to keep a bit of an eye on how things progress.

Mine got delivered to a neighbour, so just fired up F-Zero X and it's a literal game changer. Just feels 100% better, the stick is so different. Really made up with this, will be hitting other games now after ignoring them for a while because the controls were not right with a pro pad.

Yes it is - better resolution at least. 

 

I just had a quick race on Waverace and it is much better, that stick is just perfect for it - feels much taller and more springy than modern ones!

 

Will dig out the cart and try M64 again next…

Is Diablo 3 worth getting, I already have it on the Xbox so it will only be played in handheld mode.

 

Also I should mention I ordered a new OLED model yesterday to replace my original switch as I really want to start using it more as a handheld console and I feel Diablo 3 would be perfect to play for it.

Waverace feels great. It really is a revelation how much difference this pad makes. Will be trying it with Mario All Stars later

Thanks @Stanley for advising me to just get the OLED. It’s great. Ive got Odyssey and MK8 digitally so have re-downloaded them and the OLED makes them both look so much nicer. 
 

The only real system sellers for me until now have been BOTW and Odyssey. Both absolute stunners but there were some other games I did enjoy before I sold my original switch. 
 

This is mainly for Zelda but I’ll be picking up Metroid Prime and Bayonetta 3 at some point. I played 3D World on Wii U. Is it worth paying the price just for the Bowser’s Castle add on?

 

I forgot that Nintendo are a bunch of cheapskates (no cloud saves unless you pay) so I’ve lost all my saves but it gives me a nice excuse to restart Odyssey. 
 

Oh and are those £20 Pro Controller clones any good?

These photos bring me great joy, just look at all that gaming goodness in those photos, it’s almost obscene. 
 

@HarryBizzleBowser’s Fury is brilliant so I would say yeah definitely, but try and pick it up cheap secondhand maybe or in a sale, but it’s worth it - fleshed out a little it could have been a standalone release.

You’ve already mentioned Prime and I’m not going to lie, it’s easily the most impressive game I’ve played this year, and that includes PSVR2, there’s just some next level shit going on with that remaster - it’s the devils work. 

Not sure about third party pro pads btw I’ve always stuck to the official ones. Currently trying to preorder that TOTK pad, with no success so far.

Thanks both, I was trying to use the start button and the pad just flashed away - forgot the home button is on the top and it worked straight away!

I'd not played 3D World so it was an ace package for me, but Bowsers Fury is brilliant, as @Stanley says, try and find it second hand somewhere.

 

On controllers, I used an 8bitdo Pro 2 until recently which is a great pad, but only a bit cheaper than the Pro, which I mainly use now as its better for 3D games like Metroid because of the stick layout. But the 8bitdo has a better D-pad and the stick position makes it better for rhythm, action games.

I only know we are closer to it being announced and released now than we were yesterday.

 

I think your timescale seem possible. It wouldn't surprise me if they did that. But it also wouldn't surprise me if we heard nothing for another year.

 

I'd love to see one. I just have to laugh at the idea now.

If it’s a physical copy of Atari 50, make sure it never downloads any updates or it will delete Warbirds.

This took a lot of work, especially for all the additional materials (hence the price). I even got to do the game's super plays, which were a lot of fun.

One for the sales, I reckon. There's been an English patch for the Japanese version available for years, so the new translation would need to be pretty stellar for me to pay fifteen quid.
