I'd love to get one to play Disgaea 5, but then again I could get it for £15.99 on the PS4. Same with Skyrim that can be picked up really cheap.

I don't see the point of either of these games being released on the Switch. Disgaea is too niche and Skyrim well most people will either have or already played it on another console/PC.

Same old shit as you had on the Wii, but this time it'll cost you 50 quid*

*Highly over-exaggerated price in an attempt of humour; I don't know how much it will be

£15 for two, in case anyone is actually considering buying them.

Did they ever mention what those minus and plus buttons are for?

They were about to on the Treehouse but the stream died. They're just buttons, like Start and Select, same as on the Wii and Wii U.

It has been mentioned there's no sign of Miiverse...

All of those apart fromBF4 & Black Flag are shit, and Black Flag was on previous gen

So was BF4, and so is Zelda, so what?

Here's the more interesting historical comparison, Nintendo versus Nintendo, this is how much launch support the previous 2 home consoles managed, you can make the same "it's all shit" accusation at most of the Wii line-up too:

Nintendo GameCube:

    2002 FIFA World Cup
    Batman: Vengeance
    Bloody Roar: Primal Fury
    Burnout
    Cel Damage
    Crazy Taxi
    Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2
    Disney's Tarzan Freeride
    Donald Duck: Quack Attack
    Driven
    ESPN International Winter Sports 2002
    International Superstar Soccer 2
    Luigi's Mansion
    Sonic Adventure 2: Battle
Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader
    Super Monkey Ball
    Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3
    Universal Studios Theme Parks Adventure
    Wave Race: Blue Storm
    XG3: Extreme G Racing

Nintendo Wii:

    Barnyard
    Call of Duty 3
    Cars
    Far Cry Vengeance
    GT Pro Series
    Happy Feet
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
    Madden NFL 07
    Marvel: Ultimate Alliance
    Monster 4x4: World Circuit
    Need for Speed: Carbon
    Open Season
Pinball Hall of Fame: The Gottlieb Collection
    Rampage: Total Destruction
    Rayman Raving Rabbids
    Red Steel
SpongeBob SquarePants: Creature from the Krusty Krab
    Super Fruit Fall
    Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent
    Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam
    Wii Play
Wii Sports (Bundled with the Wii console)

Edit - I forgot the Wii U, what a complete difference that launch was:

    007 Legends
    Assassin's Creed III
Batman: Arkham City - Armored Edition
    Ben 10: Omniverse
Call of Duty: Black Ops II
    Chasing Aurora
    Darksiders II
Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two
Family Party: 30 Great Games Obstacle Arcade
    FIFA 13
    Funky Barn
    Game Party Champions
    Just Dance 4
    Little Inferno
    Mass Effect 3: Special Edition
    Nano Assault Neo
    New Super Mario Bros. U
    Nintendo Land
    Puddle
    Rabbids Land
Rise of the Guardians: The Video Game
    Skylanders: Giants
    Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed
    Sports Connection
    Tank! Tank! Tank!
Tekken Tag Tournament 2: Wii U Edition
    Transformers: Prime – The Game
    Trine 2: Director's Cut
    Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper
    Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2013
    ZombiU

Clearly no difference in how much faith people have this time around.

The third party stuff is very very worrying. Forget all the usual 'Nintendo don't do third party' 'You only buy Nintendo for first party titles' bullshit. They've always in the past made sure that they've at least got some sembelence of third party support for the launch period or first year. This though has been blown out of the water with the Switch. Third party is a fucking desert.

The thing is that... this time around the Switch is actually a handy addition for many like train commuters or pleople who live with non-gamers. I think a swtich can actually bring a fresh market.

The appeal of those lies solely in their portable aspect imo. In saying that portable Skyrim at £50 (or whatever) is a luxury I can't afford, along with the Switch itself.

I really want Zelda but I'll probably just pick up a cheap second hand Wii U and play it on that.

I totally agree. It's likely replacing the 3ds. Think about that for a second. This thing is replacing Nintendo's handheld, a market they are traditionally very strong in. They should have no problem getting some big third parties onboard, and in good time. Yet here we are. Absolutely bizarre.

If I asked them if they wanted a new phone or a Switch in March, they'd both choose a Switch. In fact i might do that as a test later to see what they say.

8 Year old said SWITCH! Straight off the bat no surprises there.

14 year old said, I dunno, what sort of phone? Aren't the games expensive on the Switch and there's not much coming out on it yet. Then she thought some more and said, well I'm happy with my phone for now so yeah a Switch.

Then they both got confused thinking that i was actually going to buy one for them both.... Yeah, but no. Sorry girls not for a while anyway.

It's replacing a £130 handheld with a £300+ handheld by the time you've bought a game.

Not a fair comparision. When the GameCube was first launched in Japan, there were just THREE launch day titles:

Luigi's Mansion

Super Monkey Ball

Wave Race: Blue Storm

It was two months before these were added as launch titles (when launched in the US):

All-Star Baseball 2002

Batman: Vengeance

Crazy Taxi

Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2

Disney's Tarzan Untamed

Madden NFL 2002

NHL Hitz 20-02

Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3

and then six further months before the EU launch titles:

2002 FIFA World Cup

Bloody Roar: Primal Fury

Burnout

Cel Damage

Donald Duck: Quack Attack

Driven

ESPN International Winter Sports 2002

International Superstar Soccer 2

Sonic Adventure 2: Battle

Universal Studios Theme Parks Adventure

XG3: Extreme G Racing
