gingerling
I'd love to get one to play Disgaea 5, but then again I could get it for £15.99 on the PS4. Same with Skyrim that can be picked up really cheap. I don't see the point of either of these games being released on the Switch. Disgaea is too niche and Skyrim well most people will either have or already played it on another console/PC.

Forget all the usual 'Nintendo don't do third party' 'You only buy Nintendo for first party titles' bullshit. They've always in the past made sure that they've at least got some sembelence of third party support for the launch period or first year. This though has been blown out of the water with the Switch. Third party is a fucking desert. The thing is that... this time around the Switch is actually a handy addition for many like train commuters or pleople who live with non-gamers. I think a swtich can actually bring a fresh market.

In saying that portable Skyrim at £50 (or whatever) is a luxury I can't afford, along with the Switch itself. I really want Zelda but I'll probably just pick up a cheap second hand Wii U and play it on that.

This thing is replacing Nintendo's handheld, a market they are traditionally very strong in. They should have no problem getting some big third parties onboard, and in good time. Yet here we are. Absolutely bizarre.

In fact i might do that as a test later to see what they say. 8 Year old said SWITCH! Straight off the bat no surprises there. 14 year old said, I dunno, what sort of phone? Aren't the games expensive on the Switch and there's not much coming out on it yet. Then she thought some more and said, well I'm happy with my phone for now so yeah a Switch. Then they both got confused thinking that i was actually going to buy one for them both.... Yeah, but no. scottcr
that switch between tv and screen during MK8 multiplayer was really quite smart... it's fucking seamless. Kiwi Cake
The launch lineup is small but there's a potentially decent set of games on the system come the end of the first "year". I think I'm on board for this.
