Game Mania sent me an SMS telling me to contact my shop (Doetinchem) to confirm which colour I wanted. I've had to use Facebook instead as I'm overseas still, but they have been mighty nice and helpful with everything.

They got a bit of flak on here for being the Dutch version of Game, but they've been alright with me so far.

Are midnight openings a thing in Cheese/Windmill/Weed Land?

I've cancelled my Amazon pre-order now because I added a gift card and got bumped so I've got a £10 voucher for Argos if anyone wants one.

I'll take it if you still have it? I pre-ordered at Argos a couple of days before they started doing the vouchers, annoyingly.

I'm sure I'm just fiddle-faddling here but I don't understand why my Zelda is "pre-ordered" while my Switch is "not yet dispatched"? And the dates are the same but formatted differently?

Did you accidentally order a digital copy of Breath of the Wild?

Something might be going on with SFII...check out this trailer:

And check out this image I grabbed from right near the end - is there a first-person mode or something??

Apologies is this is old news (or something from a previous release) - just new to me!

EDIT: In reply to rgraves USFII chat.

Yeah, I suspect it's a JoyCon motion controlled mini-game? They have said there are other modes to be revealed at a later date.

They recently announced arcade mode with Arcade Standby so that other players can challenge you as you play through arcade mode.

They also mentioned inviting people from your friends list to matches in-game as well. I think some people thought that might have to be done via the smartphone app.

Hope there is (there won't be) as releasing a 25 year old title as a major(?) launch game is nuts. Even the 3DS got a (awesome) port of SF4 and straight port of that would be better than what we're getting. Heck, why not 5 even!? Does Sony have complete exclusivity still?

GAF has some more details on that:

http://www.capcom.co.jp/usf2/

■ Arcade Standby Feature
In Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers‘s “Arcade Mode,” in which you battle CPU characters with the goal of reaching the ending, an “arcade standby” feature has been implemented. By enabling this setting, other players online will be able to challenge you during Arcade Mode, bringing you back to the excitement and tension of the days other players would cut in for a fight at the arcade.

■ Network Battles
Ultra Street Fighter II supports both local and Internet battles. With local battles, you can use the hardware’s wireless feature to fight against nearby players. With Internet battles, you can participate in “Ranked Matches,” where your “Player Points (PP)” and “Battle Points (BP)” accumulate based on your wins and loses, or “Casual Matches,” where you can fight freely without the effect of points. In Ranked Matches, you can check your ranking based on your points and search for opponents under various conditions. It is the perfect feature to develop your skills.

■ Ranked Matches
There are four types of Ranked Matches:

Quick Match – Searches for players able to fight without setting any conditions.
Custom Match – Set conditions and search for a player that you want to fight against.
Create Match – Create a lobby where you set the battle rules and such, and wait for the players that you want to fight against to join.
Friend Match – Searches for players that you can fight against now from your registered friends list.

£250 is still too dear. £280 just takes it well above the threshold where I can lie to myself about it. Everyone's got a limit. I suspect the Switch might be higher than most people's.

I hope it does well. But I suspect I'll not be the only one hanging on.

Christ. Do you have weird arbitrary limits when purchasing other things? What's the maximum you're prepared to spend on a vacuum cleaner? £127?

Just say you don't really want one at the moment, instead of bullshit about a few quid here and there. It's fine. I don't really want a PS4. If it was £30 I might get one. That's not to say I think it's overpriced now. I just don't really want one so it'd need to be piss cheap.

I want a Switch though. Oh fuck do I want a Switch.

Exactly this, I want all the consoles, but wasn't prepared to pay the money on day one for either x1 or ps4, I snagged an x1 in October 2014 just after FH2 was released for £200, and the ps4 came from the trading section here at £155 ( and which hasn't been played for any more than an hour!!) I did sell the x1 to put towards a day 1, 2tb X1 s, but that thing was £350 and we had to pay a premium to get the 2tb and early access to the machine, and later this year, it will be sold to fund a Scorpio, but I see no issue in spending £280 + game money on buying a Switch, it offers me the chance to carry on playing exactly the same game, exactly where I left off, at home, work or whilst a passenger, that's functionality I am happy to thow money at.

I don't need a pro controller, a charge grip or extra joy-con, I just need games, anywhere and everywhere, which this is looking like it will offer :)

But if you don't have a limit how do you decide what not to buy?

Oh, its only 3p, £3, £30, £300 more. I might as well get it

Of course but we're talking about a MAXIMUM difference between a decent price and daylight robbery being £70. Though the chap was actually talking about £30 being the deal breaker. Seems like a fairly insignificant amount. Considering this is our passion as hardcore videogame gamers.

Sony never had complete exclusivity on SFV.

You're right, we owe it to ourselves ;)

And £280 ish to Nintendo.

Buy it. Enjoy it. You could be dead tomorrow. Hoping to save £30 off a £280 console in 9 months time is absolute lunacy.
