I sell any games I don't enjoy, and as space becomes more sparse I think harder about what I want to keep - as much as a large set of games is nice, if they aren't games I want to play or remember I don't really see the point. So I end up getting rid of games that I quite like, but don't have strong feelings for. I mean, this is what my shelves look like after severe culling:

I possed this mainly because the four wiimotes fit on that shelf in the most satisfying way.

That was a very pleasing discovery, as was the fact each perfectly houses a Dreamcast controller, in both cases perfect in both width and depth. They're Gnedby shelves from Ikea, if anyone's wondering ;)

You have the LE Skyward Sword Wii remote too. I can't believe I got rid of mine.

Damn I need to start collecting some stuff.

Is that valuable then? I still have mine - the gold one?

Not overly so, but if you have the whole thing boxed with the game and CD it will be worth something.

Cool, I do indeed. That said it survived my recent cull and I've no inclination to get rid of it. One of those I keep meaning to go back to...

Sold mine for about £50 on eBay last year, full set with the soundtrack and that, put the cash towards a projector screen :)

Again, it's just clutter. It's a game I'll probably never play the disc version of again, as I can get the digital copy on Wii U.

I've been meaning to grab Shovel Knight on PC or Vita for ages now and I'm tempted to grab it on Switch instead because of that lovely screen. The lack of d-pad is concerning me though. Can anyone with a preference for d-pad to analogue stick for 2D games assuage my worries? I know the Pro pad resolves this issue but I'm not going to be playing on the TV.

Got a neon Switch yesterday. Slight movement of the right joycon in handheld mode, and the R button is soft and doesn't click like the other 3 shoulder buttons.

None of my buttons on any of my four joycon click.

Slight give in the joycons is normal.

Don't understand the reasoning behind digital purchases being always to hand. I've never found it much fuss to carry around the odd cart with me, especially as most cases have space for at least 2 spare. I suppose if you're the kind of player which flits constantly between lots of titles it may make some sense. But then again in my experience, most people play a limited range of titles in rotation.

Each to their own though. Physical all the way for me. When it comes right down to it I just feel like I end up getting more value. And of course the Switch cases are lovely. :)

I've been playing it solely in handheld mode using the buttons, and it's fine. Specter of Torment expansion is sublime.

Am I supposed to be able to turn mine on from the controller when in docked mode?

if so, how do you do it?

You can't.

Precisely this; I don't understand why anyone a) thinks the boxes are lovely (they're just plastic boxes!) and b) wants to bother with the faff of taking carts in and out - that's so last gen! Especially these ones, with them being so small and easy to lose. I'm happy to go 100% digital and not have loads of tatty plastic boxes stuck in a drawer somewhere.

You can. Mine goes on if I press the home button a couple of times

That's waking it from sleep, not turning it on.
