One of the things that doesn't seem to be well-documented about the Switch is exactly when it updates software.  The other day I saw a news item about Snake Pass saying that it had a update for a Time-Trial mode, but when I went to update it it said it had already been done.  I don't mind when it's small things like that or the DLC Pack 1 for Zelda on Switch (about 500MB AFAIK), but in future should there be much bigger updates I would like to know exactly when the system is going to be downloading Gigabytes of Data as I have to manage my data usage carefully.

There's only 32GB of storage by default. You're not going to be seeing large patches like on the PS4/XB1.

Looks like as well as Snake Pass, Bomberman is also going in sale:

"Pac-Man Vs. was re-released as part of Namco Museum DS for Nintendo DS and was later ported to mobile phones."

Huh?  What?  When?  Still available?

EDIT: The Eurogamer report was clearer on this.  On mobile in Japan only.

Splatterhouse original arcade version and Rolling Thunder 2, yep count me in :)

I can't wait. I love me some Rolling Thunder and Splatterhouse

Guys. I got that roguelike shooter GoNNER last night. It's weird and doesn't explain anything but once I realised you should use the triggers for shoot and reload rather than face buttons it started clicking. It's rock hard but surprising good fun. Especially for the price.

Ditto, Splatterhouse is one of my all time favourites. The Megadrive sequels never quite did it for me, and although the PC Engine version was an excellent port it wasn't perfect. So this is a rare treat. And yeah RT2 - absolute classic. Really good package overall with Galaga and Pac Man also.

How much is Gonner?  Looks like it has an Isaac vibe. Which reminds me, just when is that getting a UK release?

I have a feeling Mass Effect Andromeda will come to switch, Don't know why I think it but seems like the right game to bring to switch

The Switch is the *perfect* machine for long time sink games...

it's also the perfect machine for short pick up and play games.

It's the perfect machine.

For £29.99 Super Bomberman R sounds tempting - is it worth it? I think there has been some performance updates since it was first released, so I'm not sure how relevant original reviews are now.

What multiplayer modes are available? Is there a co-op mode? I'm thinking if it would be any fun playing with a 7 year old punk!

Given the games technical difficulties on more powerful platforms along with its disappointing sales I suspect not myself

I'm going to Japan in a few weeks and thinking of picking up a Switch, what with it being multi region and about £50 cheaper there. And new Mario on the way. Is there anything I should know beforehand? Are the JP games in English or region-specific? I games to be multi lingual as standard in this day and age, but just want to be sure before I end up with BotW and Splatoon 2 in Japanese.

Cheers guys. Excited to be boarding the Nintendo hype train once again!

Unfortunately, unless something changes between now and then, your chances of finding a switch in a shop here are slim to none.

I'm full of cold, having trouble sleeping and sick of waiting for Binding of Isaac to release in the UK. Fuck that noise. 40 dollars of eshop credit bought from Playasia and it's now downloading from the US store. It's not like it's going to be less than 35 and I just paid a little under 33 for it.

NO REGRETS.

I'm going on a cruise to the Canaries in September and the Switch is going with me. Perfect for lazy days on deck in the sun.

Super Bomberman R is 40% off - so, £30 on the eshop.

I'm undecided on that. Looks like a £20 game at most.

Thanks for the warning. We'll be out in the sticks for a while, so between the local electronic stores and Amazon.co.jp I'm hopeful.

What local multiplayer games (preferably co-op) - that only require the standard 2 joy-cons - would people recommend?

Im going on holiday with my 6 year old son (I'll be bringing the Switch as a surprise joint birthday present for himself and me) and I'd like to play some multiplayer stuff while we're away. I don't want Mario Kart (as I've already got it for the Wii U) and I've got the Puyo Puyo Tetris demo, what local multiplayer games are available that a 6 year old (who does love old Skool arcade games) enjoy?
