KER-FUCKING-BLAMMO.

I didn't it was out this month either. I think I'm steering clear of this thread as soon as release happens and then posting spoilered KERBLAMMOs as I go through, or writing them all elsewhere and posting them all at once and reading everyone else's.

I loved reading the responses on here for VLR, was great to re-live it all again.

VLR is still the only game that made me stop playing during a lunch break, put the DS down and just go 'wait a fucking minute' when I first experienced one of the big kerblammos and I 'got' what the game was doing. Can't wait.

I reckon the penultimate KERBLAMMO will be that all the characters are in fact members of the RLLMUK Zero Escape crew.

Except for one!  Who in a stunning final revelation is revealed to be Kotaro Uchikoshi who has been on the forum playing us like fiddles from the very beginning.  My money is on either Mr Jeff or therearerules.

Anyone seen anywhere taking preorders for the vita or ds versions? I had a look at a few places and can't find anything and it's supposed to be out soon.

Digital only in Europe i'm afraid will need to import it if you want a physical copy, which is a problem if you want the 3DS version.

Oh god, I'm so excited for this game. I haven't even looked at any screenshots yet in order to keep my experience pure. I'm torn on which platform to go for, the first two games I have on 3DS. I suppose 3DS has the advantage over Vita of having the notepad on the bottom screen.

Work can't go fast enough today.

Will edit the OP later, but please tag all spoilers! If the past two games are anything to go by, this will be best if you go in blind.

yeah same here, well i switched to vita for the second but sort of regretted it (wasn't a big deal, it was still ace) as the puzzles seem designed to be solved with 2 screens worth of info visible at the same time so i kept copying stuff out onto paper - was it the same on the DS with everything on the top screen and a just notepad on the bottom? or could you have effectively 2 screens of info about the puzzle at the same time? if it's the former i'll get it on vita as i've got psn credit.

90 minutes in.

Spoiler

Was really worried that this was shaping up to be a stinker at first, there's lots of repetition to begin with, and not much game.

Now, though, the game flowchart has just opened up to be a sprawling monster and i can't wait to get stuck back in. So many little mysteries already. Who is Q? Why is Junpei so bitter? Did Akane and Junpei have an altercation? Where did the fucking dog come from?

It seems a bit odd that you have to do all three first executions first, VLR didn't do that did it? I kind of wanted to carry on with Q as far as I could but it doesn't unlock the next section, presumably until you've done all three. Good way of introducing all the characters I suppose but I wanted maximum KERBLAMMO by just concentrating on one 'path' and then going back and tying things up/ getting more confused.

On my first 'branch' went full crazy after doing my first 'find way out'

Got another ending, crossbow icon. Certainly didn't see that coming after barrely knowing who anyone is but I think I've also found a few of those 'only get a different option after you've had some more KERBLAMMOs' moments too, which is good to see.

Not entirely convinced I like the pictures to choose my next jump point though, as I did another one which was then annoyingly not the next bit after the bit I just did... if that makes any sense. Going to stick with the flowchart I think.

seems Phi and Sigma have some recollection of the events of VLR and previous Zero but this guy isn't that Zero... I'm sure at least one of them is a robot as well

:P

Urgh, this is killing me.  But I'm still halfway through Fire Emblem whilst also being hopelessly addicted to Overwatch so there's little point in me picking it up yet.

At least you early birds will be able to have a good laugh at how wildly off the mark my thoughts are once I do get round to it.

I thinking 'understanding' these games is probably like quantum mechanics :P

It is standalone but there are references here and there and a few characters from previous, I can't really remember much of VLR apart from my brian leaking out my ears after all the KERBLAMMING and I've not really felt much of a need to replay it due to not following what's going on.

It's fucking mental either way. In a great way of course.

If you've not played VLR I'd heartily recommend playing it anyway and it's no doubt cheaper than this at the moment as it is.
