I joined when I was about 30 I think. I’d tried to join the Edge forum before that but wasn’t allowed because I didn’t have a proper email address.

God that takes me back. I had to use the ntlworld email address my dad got with our internet to sign up.

Squadron 42, announced in 2012 with "we've already had a years development", coming 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024! Literally ten years.

The 360 and PS3 were the main consoles when it was announced, the Wii U wouldn't launch for another couple of weeks, now we're two generations later.

I don't see the joke, they've managed to make hundreds of millions of dollars having one game in development, why not start taking preorders for two, three, or even more additional games that'll also never be released?

I do hope the dev teams involved in this farce are putting as much dosh safely aside, because there’s no angle I can see where this is going to end well at all.

Everything about this screams ‘catastrophe’.

Plus, the thought of even being in the same room as a cunt as colossal as Roberts is the stuff of nightmares.

It's incredible how much of that update is just weird gaslighting and attacks on critics, very professional, not weird at all.

I say we take off, nuke the site from orbit

Only way to be sure (to mask there was never anything there)

More money pls

10 years since the initial Kickstarter as of October 2022 🤣 They should be serving jail time for fraud.

There will be an unbelievable amount of merch available with 10 on it, both digital and physical and they will buy it all :D

I forgot abou the merch! I wonder how many millions they've made off that over the years. £25 on there for a mousemat, probably costs them £1.50 to produce.

A fool and their money and all that.

That’s a very interesting view of software development. Only applies if there’s no pressure to ship or complete anything ever.

I wonder what their Manchester salaries are like compared to market.  If you gave zero fucks for your career it would be a lucrative gig just sat on the hamster wheel knowing anyrthing you did had no consequence or chance of being used or released by any other team.

I heard RSI is a meat-grinder crunch machine where you get dirty looks and a talking down from the N layers of middle management if you leave the office at the “official” end of the day and it’s about as fun as doing your own vivisection.

And let’s get down to brass tacks here, there’s never going to be a finished Star Citizen. Roberts doesn’t know how to finish a videogame, none of his senior management know how to finish a videogame, none of the intermediary levels of producers know how to finish a videogame. They’ll have entered the “let’s keep trying to improve our Jira momentum metrics” stage of project death-spiral and are desperately hoping that they can build a house by putting one brick on top of another one faster than people can pay your new bricks.
