MEGAbytes Glasgow

Recommended Posts

Can't seem to find a thread on this, after an IndieGoGo campaign the MEGAbytes Arcade/RetroGaming cafe in Glasgow opened last Saturday. I didn't make it along but it was really busy, queued out the door, great for a launch day.

Went along last night for a nosy and really enjoyed it, they have the following arcade machines:

  • Judge Dredd Pinball
  • Operation Wolf 3
  • House of the Dead
  • Star Wars Pod Racer
  • A Multi Cab Game, played Donkey Kong on It
  • Street Fighter 2

And a currently broken Naomi cabinet :(

After playing most of the machines, a friend and I went on to the console selection, played on the Mega Drive for an hour. Games are £1 for an hour or rental with a food(drink?) purchase. They seemed to have a Snes, Master System, N64, Dreamcast, Xbox 1 and a few others that I didn't get a chance to look at.

Worth a visit, good to see these sort of things out side of London

This week they are doing a competition on Mario Kart (Snes) Mario Circuit 1, time to beat is 1:02:98 - I need more practice.
