I live in Spain so I never get the chance to watch Hull City live anymore. I'm in Hull for Christmas and managed to surprise my dad with tickets for today's game. It was fantastic. Hooray for football and family. It was also a treat to watch City score some lovely, lovely goals, too. Merry Christmas!

I saw Livermore's goal earlier, lovely finish.

If you could go back to being a lower league team though that would be great. Colours are too close for comfort, and it's pretty disheartening seeing you do so well wishing it was us ????

Burnley have dropped off a bit recently though haven't they? What's happened there?

It's OK. All the top teams favoured to be at the head of the table got a tonking today.

If I told you that tomorrows lineup at home to Bristol City will be Heaton, Lowton, Duff, Keane, Mee, Boyd, Barton, Marney, Arfield, Vokes and Gray with Hennings coming on for Gray after about 75 minutes and Taylor for Arfield maybe five minutes earlier, then you get an idea of how utterly predictable Clarets are.

Basically, we were wondering when they are going to "click" into gear and have become resigned to the fact that they aren't going to. Number of factors, we're not a surprise package this time around, in fact we're one of the big boys. So fast pressing and counter-attacking won't work when teams are sitting back. Second, no matter how badly George Boyd plays, he isn't getting dropped. (Though watch Dyche do just that tomorrow...) It isn't that Boyd is a bad player - far from it - but his confidence is shot and he is hiding on the pitch. I've never seen a player almost consciously keep himself anonymous throughout ninety minutes - yet Dyche will not drop him. The fans are getting frustrated, they don't want to start having a go but the main sound at t'Turf is of 15,000 collectively biting their tongues.

There isn't much in the way of pace in the squad, Dyche is completely wedded to 4-4-2 which menas we have three superb midfielders in Marney, Barton and David Jones and one of them has to sit on the bench and not play. I am a big fan of Scott Arfield but people know him at this level and neither Kightly or Taylor can last a full 90 minutes.

We'll probably get as far as a playoff spot but the only way promotion is coming is if we QPR it in the final.

Boro again, this is getting embarrassing.

Visiting teams come to The Riverside and park the bus, in an attempt to frustrate our possession game or hit us on the break. Unfortunately, it never works.

Today against Sheff Wed we score within 45 seconds and, aside from some decent attacking play in the first half, we defended for the rest of the game. Suffice to say, we are top of the league along with the best defensive record.

THIS IS HOW WE DO.

You were fairly appalling in the second half against a team that played two days ago. If you do go up you've got a hell of a lot to do over the summer.

I thought Sheff Wednesday made 6 changes, isn't that what SQUADS are for? I mean yeah, you're right, we must be getting lucky with all these clean sheets.

And catching 45 minutes of poor play doesn't mean an overhaul. If our team is bad, what does it say about the rest of this league?

Derby next though. If we beat them, hopefully we can start pulling away from the chasers.

Appaling? Think you're being a bit harsh. Probably to have a go at Smith I guess. But you guys were only on top from the last 15 when you had 3 strikers and we brought Kalas on for our striker to shut up shop.

We could and should have got a 2nd for it to be comfortable but at the same time I wouldn't have grumbled if you got a point, it was a close hard fought game. Your man up top Forrestieri is awesome, I was so glad he was benched.

I watched the match in Hillsborough(keeping hush) was a good atmosphere though with plenty of shouting at Fabbrini laying on the floor.

George Friend will be in the prem sooner or later, every week he puts a shift in.

Just to add, this current crop have beaten Man City, drew at Man Utd and Liverpool and lost only 2-0 to Arsenal, all away from home in the last year or so.

Argue all you want about them being cup games but we don't need a overhaul to handle the prem. Even if we went up and got relegated straight away it's a sweet £100mil isn't it.

Keep up, Rev. Boro are brilliant every match and also the only side doing well this season, streets ahead of everyone in fact.

Burnley seem to be clicking...

I dunno. I'm not sure whether Bristol City were really bad or just a bit unlucky to run into a forward line that couldn't miss. 4-0 was a tad unfair, and it could have been worse as Grey had a shot deflected onto the post and Barton hit the bar with a 25 yard screamer.

George Boyd got dropped, which was a nice late Christmas present for most of the 17,000+ in attendance.

Wednesday have been relatively comedic in defending, to only manage to score a lucky first minute one and then sit back on that when we're knackered isn't at all impressive. By "appalling" I more meant by the standards of a potential champion, it should have been a match that was taken by the scruff of the neck and finished off, rather than leaving glad to have not dropped points.

And the latest chapter in the Leeds pantomime...

They threatened to ban Sky's cameras because they've been on Sky so many times this season.

Relented this afternoon, but it's hilarious to watch.

Do they not get paid extra every time they are on the tv? Or is it factored in somehow?

Yeah, but this is Leeds and they are - as many of their fans never fail to remind us - the biggest club in the entire fucking world who everyone wants to watch, So they get picked to be on TV a lot. Bitching about being on TV so much when a club of their massive, massive stature seems - and this may seem as a shock when it comes to Leeds fans - a bit hypocritical.

Have some respect. They reached a European Cup final once you know.

Derby beat Hull 2-0 away just after they battered you - what's your point?

I think Boro v Derby had 0-0 written all over it until Shackell got injured tonight. We weren't condeding 2 to Leeds with him playing. If he's missing then I can't see anything but a comfortable Boro win unfortunately, as poor as they were at the iPro.

I'm not sure you can really criticise the Leeds fans for being owned by a mentalist.

Great win for Ipswich - extra pleased as I didn't think we should have lost to Brighton at home. Gets us a bit of leeway for when we lose at home to Rotherham or something.

Great result, and clever the way McCarthy switched formations to counteract Brighton's. From the highlights Bru was unlucky to hit the woodwork twice. And Gerken has proved the doubters wrong again with another fine save.
