Apparently one of the rebranding ideas being mooted by the marketing department was a Yorkie style 'no females' policy, all male presenters, all male music. The slogan was going to be "Man Size Music".

And if you think that Chris Moyles is as bad as it gets, their other djs include Vernon Kay, Jonny Vaughn and Ricky Wilson.

The only time I've found Moyles to be even remotely entertaining was when he was trying to interview Mariah Carey and he asked her if she'd heard of Pato Banton. He spent the rest of the interview drooling over the album cover and saying "you really are gorgeous".

People on my Facebook getting excited at the prospect of Moyles' return to radio, although they're all women so therefore not allowed to listen to Radio X, according to their marketing department.

There aren't enough  in the world to respond to that.

OMFG they didn't drop the idea entirely.

Radio X promises to play the "best fresh rock and guitar-based music across the UK" and be the "first truly male-focused" station, targeted at 25-44 year olds.

I'm a male, aged 25-44 years old and I now feel somehow personally responsible. :( Sorry everybody.

jesus christ. vernon kay would be on the radio in my own personal room in hell. one of the all time worst panel show guests ive ever seen, the man has as much personality as a pine cone.

Chris Moyles must have been expecting the offers to come flooding in once be left Radio 1 but after his tax avoiding shenanigans I can only assume this was the best offer he got. He wasn't exactly known for playing that much music on the breakfast show either.

i love it when they stick them in the 'idiot' chair so everyone knows theyre there to show themselves up, and they inevitably do. moyles was an awful panel show guest too, these people cannot be funny in a non-controlled environment surrounded by sycophants (not that they can be funny anyway)

Sometimes it's who you know

[Ashley Tabor, founder of parent company Global and former flatmate of Moyles said: "Radio X will focus on fresh rock and guitar-based music alongside huge personalities. And personalities don't get any bigger than Chris Moyles.

"Chris is a broadcasting genius and as Global makes a multi-million pound investment in launching Radio X on a national scale, I couldn't think of anyone better to host the station's breakfast show.

"Along with Vernon Kay, Johnny Vaughan and Ricky Wilson, the UK has never had a radio station like Radio X before."

I remember his mocking Johnny Vaughn's breakfast show ratings when he was on Capital so it's also fun to see Moyles back on such a relatively small radio station

my most hated habit of moyles, and there are a lot to choose from obviously, would be him saying something shit and edgy, and just letting the silence hang there.

ive mentioned this plenty of times before, but 15 or so years ago there was a documentary on chris evans, showing what an absolute cunt he was behind the scenes. something about morning DJs, over inflated self belief and mistreatment of staff, its some sort of pre-requisite of the job to be a massive arsehole. it was brilliant, i wish i could see it again

I was a huge fan of the Chris Moyles Show on Radio 1 and listened to it throughout its duration. If it's more of the same then great, count me in as a listener. Johnny Vaughan is decent on TalkSport, but I've never bothered to listen to him on other stations.

Radio X though? Surely they could have come up with a better name!

I remember Moyles on my local station many years ago now, Chiltern FM. He had a late evening slot and was very entertaining. I can understand why a lot of people hate him as it seems to be the done thing to hate opinionated people with an ego, but I genuinely think he's better than most of the other DJ's out there. A lot of the stuff he talked about was usually interesting & entertaining. So anyway, he was great on local Radio so there's no reason he can't do a job on Radio X.

I liked Chris Moyles when I was a sixteen-year-old boy because I was a sixteen-year-old boy. I can't imagine listening to him now unless his sense of humour has matured somewhat

Pretty much this. I listened to Moyles and a bunch of other R1 stuff when I was a student but just became too old and sensible to continue listening to it :blah:

EDIT: that chat show he did wasn't much better either
