@spork yep! Can't wait to get stuck in, tbh!

I'm the kind of person who ends up spending 2 hours crafting a block of toilets more than growing the park, though

Though having just finished a mini-addiction to Cities Skylines I'm keen to dig around the management stuff.

Not sure whether to try the career challenges, sandbox, or 'challenge' (i.e. sandbox with limited money / research) first!

Anyone getting properly awful framerate? On a 970 I can't get it about 20fps at lowest settings and it uses 100% of my GPU :( can't remember it being this bad for the alpha.

Mine struggles a bit more aye. There was a reflections option in the alpha that you  could disable to increase performance. Dunno if it is in this release.

I did all of that, nobody seemed to use priority passes :(

Do you mean literally short queue paths?

And I can't afford any more rides!!  It's pretty brutal.  I think I will go to the Career mode first.

(they totally named Career and Challenge mode the wrong way round, lol)

Yeah, shorter queues so it limits how many people can stand in line. Put seats & food joints near entries and toilets near exits, that can slow the flood of customers a bit too.

When I tried that, the complaint changed from "queue too long" to "queue is full"!!!

:(

also so seems a bit weird they complain that 10 mins is too long a queue.. hard to know what's intentional and what isn't at this stage, doesn't help that no on who makes vids etc on YouTube is playing this mode! It's all career or building..

I'm finding the beta crashes too much for my liking. It is much worse than the alpha for me. Because you can't change the autosave frequency, you can lose shit loads of work. Really putting me off investing serious time into building any rides.

Is it just me or does time evaporate quicker than usual withi this, even when I've been way into other games, I'm usually quite good at guessing how long I've been playing.  I this I always seem to need to double my estimation.  1am on a school night is not good!

Anyway, behold my travesty of a hard-earned park:

Hopefully I'll eventually save up enough cash that I can start zoning / planning / theme it nicely!  Good fun now, I've not seemed to hit the problems I had with my first park.

Currently trying to work out how to change the fortune of my non-profitable rides.. There a re quite a few!  Seems like putting coasters down is definitely the way to go when it comes to making cash though, they rake it in VS flat rides.

Yeah, free Park entry and paid rides is the way to go for easy money.

On the crashing thing I went to the forums, it's affecting a large number of people. Just random crashes to desktop, doesn't matter what you are doing. Seems to have started when they put out the stability patch.
