Honestly, half the people who do brackets don't even follow the game. The person who won our group last year picked them at random, after going with a few of the more obvious seeded ties.

 

I get quite into the stats and only came 5th out of about 12 people. Says it all.

Time to create your brackets!

 

First March Madness where it'll be possible (however comically unlikely) to get all 3 Iowa teams in the Final Four. Anyway, my Hawkeyes are screwed in South. Even if we beat Temple, we're bound to get Villanova in the next round.

Quick, get your bracket done if you haven't already! Tournament starts Thursday. Can't create a bracket once the first game tips off. 

 

I have to admit, I have a couple of Big Ten teams going a round or two further than they probably will. Also, it pains me to knock the Iowa teams out early, but I can't see them going anywhere this time, except perhaps the Cyclones.

Aw shite, I can't believe Purdue lost, and by 2. Didn't get to see it but I get that was a good game. Of course, I had Purdue to beat Iowa State, so they'll possibly go further than I had them now, which is good (Go Cyclones!) but also bad for the bracket.

 

Bit worried the badgers will beat Arizona, now.

:lol: Michigan State lost, I knew I shouldn't have made myself so heavily dependent on those useless sods. Early, on in the season, when Iowa was ranked almost highest in the country, the only two losses the spartans had until that point was Iowa, twice. We had an Arsenal end to our regular season, which is normal, but I should have trusted myself on MSU choking. Had them all the way to the final. Oh well, 'mon Kansas.

So pleased for UNI, although I had Texas to win. I don't mind the Iowa teams busting my bracket :P

 

Kentucky! Wtf. And to the Hoosiers. I love that rank essentially means nothing outside the first round, anyone can win now.

Oh man, UNI. I've never seen a side choke so badly in the final seconds. I've seen enough games now that taking a couple of score lead into the last few seconds is enough, particularly as the other side starts to regularly foul to get the ball back. I think that's the first double OT I've seen, too. 

 

Anyway, they were absolutely equal to the last minute or so of 2OT, when A&M pulled ahead and UNI had nothing to answer with. Disappointing for the local team, although I had A&M to win that matchup vs Texas anyway.

Oh man, what a final. UNC score with 5 seconds to go, and Nova charge down the court and fire a 20 foot 3 to win the game. It left his hand with about 0.7 seconds of the tournament left, and dropped through the net well after the buzzer. Amazing.

(edit - you can't hand pick your teams yet, it hasn't been finalized. Still various local tournaments going on to determine who attends. Should open up March 12).

 

If you played last year, rejoin and create a bracket. If you've not played before, you'll need an ESPN account (which you may already have, if you've played Disney Infinity), then create a bracket and join the Rllmuk group.

I went out to the group search and found 'rllmuk' there. Good luck all, I haven't made a bracket for the last few years, and no nothing of the quality of any of the teams so picked based on their seeding, name preference and some vague memory of certain teams being really good!

Sweet jesus, Kansas put 100 on UC Davis, that's an NBA scoreline , with 8 fewer minutes.

 

I had Vanderbilt :( Princeton lost by a nose, too. Spartans tip off in 10 minutes. 

 

edit - blimey, UNC and Arizona did a tonne, too.

:lol: I just realized I got Michigan and Michigan State mixed up on my bracket. I had the wolverines going forward (they did), but spartans losing to Miami - which I'd be surprised if they do, as Miami are all over the place at the half, after a promising if error ridden start. But yeah, I have wolverines going to the sweet 16 when I really didn't mean to do that.
