No one else that's a safe bet that's not likely to be going backwards by joining them, sadly. Sainz is better of with Torro Rosso, Grosjean seems to be banking on that Haas seat giving him a shot at Raikkonens seat still...

Those images of Massa walking up the pit lane, getting an ovation from the pit crews and him crying his way past it all. What a joke.

I really want Williams to be back at the front end but this is just cementing them into the rear middle.

Nothing more to add, lazy, boring choice.

Golf on the other hand is a sport that's dying on it's arse, courses closing all over the place with very few springing up to replace them. memberships down in most if not all places, housing estates a plenty, though the one I was a member of years ago went back to being farmland.....

Why is everyone labelling Bottas being hired by Mercedes as boring? Ok it's the "safe" option, which considering Mercedes value the Constructors championship above all else, isn't really surprising. But the driver himself has had some pretty good moments in a team that's required him to make sure he brings the car home in any points scoring position he can. Most recently he's had some entertaining on track moments with Kimi

He's dull in and out of the car. I don't see any evidence that he'll give Lewis a proper run for his money. And yes he's not Alonso.

= Boring.

He's the perfect choice to replace Nico, tbh I think Toto wants an easier life. Bottas won't give him half the headaches. The downside is the danger of RB nicking the constructors championship is Renault have sorted out their shit. RB have the best driver pairing by a million miles now. Let's see how Stoffel works out. Merc may well end up having the third best line up. Not that that matters if they still have an advantage but I'm not so sure they will.

The weirdest thing about Rosberg's retirement is he's still doing the cheesy adverts and promo shite most drivers hate and only do begrudgingly in exchange for the super fun times to be had when racing cars (him and Hamilton were at the same watch based event yesterday, although cunningly avoided being photographed together from what I've seen of it so far). Seems totally backwards!
