That tank battery I found, 245 grand. Made up for losing all that other gear. I probably shouldnt have opened up on them until you guys were in place but I think he saw me and I did kill him with the nade. Pity the servers were muck last night too for so long.

I was on Customs last night heading to extract at Crossroads. Had a bit of loot, nothing to go mad over but I just wanted out. Headed past Dorms and it was just the usual cacophony of gunfire. Closer I got to Crossroads more I realised there was something going on there. Inadvertently met another PMC on the way and we had a half hearted gunfight in which we just took pot shots at each other. Ultimately we just went our separate ways and that was that. I was moving down the right hand side towards the extraction point and I noticed a head slightly above the concrete barrier right were I needed to be. Fuck it, there was no hiding. Opened up and he / she obviously retaliated. Oddly we basically started slowly moving towards each other. I was hitting them, they were hitting me, it was a last stand really. Finally, some how, they died before me but I was absolutely wrecked. We ended up about 25 feet away from the extraction point so I just lay down beside their body and got what I could carry from them. Had to take a few painkillers etc as well as although I hadn’t far to go I was a complete mess. After a few minutes I moved to crouch and someone had now appeared to also camp the extraction point. They were directly across the road from me but as they were obviously scoped looking down the road I was able to limp on down past them.

Obviously my PMC needed to recuperate so next game went in as a SCAV on Woods. Appeared to have what looked like a sawn off Moisin. Stumbled across another player who looked decently geared but one face shot from the Moisin and they were deceased. Collected a very serious gun off this person and got lost looking for the SCAV extraction points. Ultimately died in the end but certainly both these runs were superb gaming experiences. The tension in this game makes the last circle in PUBG look like a walk in the park.

Moderately successful on Tarkov today. Managed to make it out with some loot on PMCs but Scav runs have been lacking. Last one was great though.

I was looting a cache on Customs when I got shot from someone unseen. I manage to leg it but I'm bleeding badly. I haven't spawned in with anything other than a basic medkit so I can't stop the bleeding. I can't sprint because they've proper fucked me. So I start panic searching caches near.

Found one bandage so that's one bloodloss stemmed, and I'm knocking back medkit like a fiend. Get to the next cache and there's nothing there. I'm basically dead. I stop staggering around and wait for death's sweet kiss. Then, footsteps.

A Player Scav pops round the corner and isn't paying attention so I pump as many of my shitty Saiga rounds into this dickhead and he drops. I stumble over to his body and loot him for the meds that are going to save my life! Surely, SURELY there's something on him?!

Nope. Nothing. Nada. Zip. I am fucked. I try for the next cache and my eyes close and I die. I enter oblivion after nearly 9 minutes. Dude gut shot me.

The twist, though? I killed the cunt that killed me before I died. HAH! Karma, bitch.

Im making a habit of going in now with gear, serious gear and its paid off. I got into a fight on shoreline with a seriously geared ad and won. he killed both my buddies so I collected there loot and lashed them into bushes hoping no one will see them and theyll get them back from insurance. I spent a 100 grand on one of those massive back packs and managed to exfil with it full to the brim.

Looted 2 geared lads and killed one and manged to hopefully save my buddies gear, thats not a shabby mission right there.

One more raid story before bed. I start a Scav run and already shit is kicking off where I need to go, in places where shit doesn’t normally kick off. I’ve only spawned in with a pistol, no armour, no helmet. I’m already resigned to an early death. I strike off sure I’m on another sub 1 minute run.

I spy someone ahead of me. I can’t engage, I’ve only got a pistol, a shit FPS and line of sight is obscured by a metal pipe so I hunker down and hope they bugger off. After 30 seconds or so I decide to double back on myself and start to do so.

A little voice says “This is a fucking stupid idea.” And so start back the way I was going, which is now silent. As I decide to do so I see a squad of two mooching along the fence and so I duck behind a bus shelter, but it’s too late. They’ve seen me. It’s going to get messy.

The first engages me and does some good damage, but I don’t go down. I pop off at him and edge around the bus to get in cover, where I see his mate just stood facing the other way. This is amateur hour; this guy should be coming towards me to fuck my shit up. Instead I somehow manage to one tap him with my pistol and he goes down like a sack of spuds.

His mate is still on the other side of the bus so I scramble to reload and go back round. I pop more at him and he gets another good shot in, but then he backs off. I pull the trigger.

*click*

…fuck.

Then he runs at me with a knife. He’s out of fucking ammo! I reload VERY quickly and flatten him. Two PMCs dead! With a Scav who only has a pistol! I’m so not going to make it out alive.

I happen to have spawned with a decent medikit so I do the do and fix all I can, but three limbs are blacked out, I’m low on energy but I’m not bleeding to death this time. It’s time to get the duck out of Fodge. I loot the everliving shit out of the bodies and scram.

I stumble on at half regular speed because both of my legs are fucked. I find the next cache on the way which has a pomegranate juice in it and that raises my dangerously low energy, but the chances of me getting to extract are pretty slim. I push on.

As I’m halfway to extract my vision starts going dark and lightening up again. I can’t sprint. I can’t fix myself. I have no juice. I’m fucked.

Except I’m not. I somehow make it to extract, hunker down and get out with the spoils of a very strange Scav raid. Then I see what my Scav was named.

This game is fucking ridiculous.

Is SCAV'ing Factory still the thing to do?

I've been murdered every time I've gone into factory. It's a pretty small map and I don't know it very well at all, despite offline runs. I'm not sure there's a right or wrong way to do this game as there's so many variables that mean a good run could go south any time so just find whatever works for you. I really should get out of the habit of running Customs perpetually...

Similar. I think the combo of the small map and me being not so good means there is a lot more death.

I'm only SCAV'ing factory because I thought it was recommended for beginners. Not sure it actually is. Need something that falls between customs and factory. I thought I saw somewhere that interchange is good SCAV level for beginners.

I think Interchange is alright if you stay away from the high traffic areas on the opposite side from Idea (the supermarket and above, where Killa spawns and that). You can get some good shit from there, especially if you get someone who's just farming scavs because you can hoover the leftovers like fucking carrion.

Yeah, I think so. I extract every other time at least. My last run netted me 270k. To be honest it isn't really for beginners. I think customs is probably the most beginner friendly map. But factory will get you shooting at people or more sensibly hiding until the gun fire stops, carefully listening for footsteps and picking over the the dead scavs for loots.

Sound is something that I'm still struggling with. Sometimes it's phantom noises, sometimes I'm in the money and some dipshit comes round the corner and eats a bullet from me but I can't consistently tell where anyone is coming from or even if there is someone. I'm getting better at gauging where gunfights are and how close I am.

Everything is way too loud though. It's fucking deafening.

I did a scav run last night. I spawned in and was immediately shot in the back of the head.  Good times.

Shoreline and Woods especially are always worth a mention. Woods isn’t half bad for a Scav run. The logging area is always littered with dead Scavs, so you can get bits and pieces off them and more often than not get out at the Old Station. Good map for sneaking about on but also good for PMC’s with long range scoped rifles. I found Shoreline quite manageable before Tarkov really blew up in late December. Seemed to have some success anyway but many of my tactics / routes don’t work anymore.

Not keen on factory and I am nowhere near figuring out Labs. Labs is weird with some identical doors being openable and some not.

We're pretty addicted to reserve now it has to be said. We have a good system, we play PMC's for missions and then we run in to reserve after for scav runs, usually come out with high end loot / rifles etc.

Weve started buying keys which i would recommend and go in with group and fill your bags, that workin out well at the moment too

Im leveling up hideout big time aswell and selling mag cases (They can be made without using genny which is great)

I bought the EOD version last night, well upgraded to it.

Is it me or do you get more addicted to this game the more you play it?

Tarkov just makes other games look pointless. Each raid you enter has consequences that are simply good or bad. You’ve so much to gain or lose every single time. Only thing that’s comparable to me are From Software games.

You guys are really selling this. Is the basic version okay or do you really need to stump up the cash for the extra space and stuff?

You can upgrade your hideout in game to get extra space. You can also buy various storage cases to help with inventory management. Tarkov was about £40 for me when I bought the cheapest version. Presumably the ones beyond that are quite  pricey.

I will say it's fucking me off that the Alpha/Beta/Gamma containers are locked behind which version you buy. I half considered upgrading to the EoD version but it's 75 fucking euros. For a 3x3 instead of a 2x2. As far as I'm aware you can only get th Kappa version from the game which is behind quest progression.

That's probably the only thing that really fucks me off about this game, especially as this extra 6 slots can make all the difference when trying to get out with quest items and the like.

Basic is fine, I think - that'll already set you back 40 euros
