Sako on fire,  as Palace run riot!

Boca Juniors 0 v 5 Crystal Palace

Shock team news was that Palace started with a false 9, but this was something they've been practicing after the woefully inept performances of Adebayor and friends.

Palace dominated from the start but found chances hard to come by until the 42min when Bolasie started the rout. Soon after,  just before half time Sako raced through to get a second and Boca walked in looking dejected.

After half time it was all Palace,  with Jedinak poking home after a great passing move from the midfielders.  Boca just could not handle the pace and power of this forward line,  and it was soon obvious why the Palace manager decided to play Sako upfront as he scored two more to grab his hat trick!

Cabaye masterclass!

Crystal Palace 5 v 0 Boca Juniors

This time it took 8mins for them to score and it was Cabaye with the simple finish. Boca were more in this game,  going closer on a couple of occasions before the second was scored,  again by Cabaye.  Bolasie was adjudged to have been fouled on the edge of the D, Cabaye stepped up to curl it into the net.  From them on, palace never looked back, with Zaha jinked past most of the defence to score early in the second half,  before Cabaye bagged his hat trick after a lovely team effort.Delaney bundled in from a corner and the game fizzled out,  with Boca going close,  dragging a save from speroni.

Cheers for the games Len,  good luck mate for the rest of the season.

Not much to add to that, a total thrashing was had. Held on as long as possible but once the first one went in a total collapse quickly followed. Played slightly better in the second game but just couldn't live with chewy at all. Doing things I had no idea how to counter...lol!

Good fun though chewy and good luck for the rest of the season. Think there's a good fight at the top brewing whilst I'm hoping Harbey keeps me off the bottom. I really must try and play more...

Leicester 3-1 Bournmouth

Okazaki with 2 Vardy with 1

mans gradel for Bournmouth.

Game 2 didn't get played due to lag and will be played......

What's the deal with lag when it causes the game to be unplayable?

There was round 60 minutes played with the score at 2-1 when the lag made the game unplayable. In that time I let in a goal and got sent off - due to ball and players jumping across my screen, and there being a 5 second delay in what I pressed on my controller to what happened on screen.

Mine was the same it kept freezing also, it wasn't down to my internet and I wasn't downloading so unless it's yours I don't know why it was lagging.

Aston Villa 3 - 1 Galatasaray 1

A very even affair I felt, 3-1 flattered Villa and was well contested up until two late goals sealed the win. Schneider made it 1-1 mid way through the second half, but Jordan Ayew and Gabby Agbonlahor hit back with two late goals.

Galatasaray 0 - 1 Aston Villa

A fairly laggy affair which Villa dominated possession and chances, limiting Galatasaray to one shot on target. A strike mid-way through the second half from Jordan Veretout was enough to hand the away side the win.

Thanks Jimmythemook for a pleasant set of games!

1-3

Wow, your memory of the first game is impressive, I'll take your word for it on that one but I think it was more one sided than that! I was pretty awful in that game, I think.

1-0

Second game I thought Gala defended much better, limiting Villa, who despite dominating possession mainly resorted to speculative shots from the edge of the box. Goal came from the only meaningful chance after a defensive mix up, very efficient! When I changed tactics in the second half I got the ball in more dangerous positions but the high pressing game by Villa was excellent, dispossessing me regularly with ease.

Very well played sicpuppy, cheers for the games!

God knows what happened in that first game as Palace ain't usually that clinical!!  For the first half hour,  Hoffenheim was in this game,  but Sako, Puncheon,  Zaha and Cabaye embed up running riot. The first penalty at 3-0 I think was an awful decision,  great tackle from your defender,  but then you did become a little dirty in the challenges after that!!  Pick of the bunch must have been the short corner,  laid off to Zaha who from the outside of the area curled it into the top corner! The consolation goal was a beaut too.

The second game was a bit closer,  although Sako scored inside 2mins to ease the pressure early on.  3 goals later and he had his hat trick before two vicious challenges meant both sides saw red!

Thanks for the games goaty,  all I would say is work on your shooting and things will be different next time.

Palace v Villa

So then,  top of the table clash and the nerves were evident from the early stages. Villa came out with their patented tippy tappy football and Palace were struggling to get much of the ball.  When they did it was some quick counter attacking football bringing a number of saves from Guzan.

Then came the first goal,  brilliant team effort with around 10 passes before Agbong passed it home.

Palace attacked immediately,  they aren't top of the table for nothing and through some shoddy defending,  Jedinak fumbled in the goal.... Game on!

Coming up to half time and Scott Dann loses his head,  with a rash challenge from the side/behind when the player was going no where and the ref sends him off...idiot!

Second half and villa dominate in the main but can't make that extra man count. Palace have a number of chances themselves but fall to take advantage and Sako is nullified by what seems the WWE of football defenders out muscling everyone!
A stupid pass by Souare puts Villa in on an open goal,  but Speroni saves well.  It looks like Palace can hang on until a ball comes into the area and drops towards the goal line,  Speroni decides not to collect for some unknown reason and let's the villa striker pick it up, cross it for his mate to score an open goal.  83rd minute,  the Palace manager is furious! Game over!

Villa 1 v 2 Palace

The game starts amd Palace just want to keep 11 men on the pitch! Villa get back to their tikky tacky and Palace are struggling,  although defending much better this time round.  An early chance sees Villa squander a potential lead and the game stays tight throughout. Villa strike in the first half, only for it to be ruled offside..  Again what was Speroni doing?!

Palace are on top, with a number of chances but lack of hitting the target and the half comes to an end.

Early in the second half the breakthrough comes,  from a Cabaye free kick. 35 yards out,  Cabaye launches one towards the top corner,  the defender is there,  the goalie to, but no way were they stopping that beauty,  great goal!!

Villa immediately lay seige,  going closer before earning a corner,  with the cross met with a great header that hits the bar!!

From then, Villa are struggling to break down the Palace defense,  but then so is Palace at the other end  and the game looks like it will peater out. Palace launch a late attack,  Guzan comes out,  Cabaye rounds him and strikes from outside the area at an acute angle, Bacuna fails to clear off the line, it's in, it's given as an own goal but we all know who scored it!!

Villa immediately attack,  the Palace defense is asleep as Adama waltzes past the defense and crashes it home of the keeper at the near post......it's too little to late, Palace have revenge!

Great games sicpup, I found you very hard to break down and villa hold the ball very very well

 Is it terrible that I am so relieved you also had a 'mare against him? I think we're both going for the record -gd award. For the record my set were 5-0 and 4-0.

I really must actually play some more matches apart from league ones weeks apart and so getting stuffed.

Bit late on result posting we here goes

West Ham 4 Boca Juniors 0

West Ham started the game at 100mph and soon Sakho had opened the scoring. A goal 10 mins later from Reid who powered a header home and not long after Sakho got his brace firing in from the edge of the box. The second half started the same way and Boca    still struggling to impose themselves. In the 62nd min Emineke continued his rich vein of form to make it 4 0. Boca pushed for a goal and Tevez forced Adrian into a smart save. Emineke was lurking trying to add to his goal tally but it was not to be and ended 4 0. Off to Argentina we go.

Boca Juniors 0 - West Ham 5

After the first match the hammers went to Argentina in confident mood but it was Boca who started the better. An early effort was saved by Adrian and another put wide. West Ham manager did some early tinkering and this seemed to work. West Ham settled into the game and some half chances were created. Then in the 35th minute a peno was awarded to the hammers after a clumsy tackle in the box. Up stepped the captain and Noble had opened the scoring. More midfield battles upto half time and it ended 1 0 with Boca looking a much better side. No changes at half time and we were under way. Not sure what was said in the hammers dressing room as 3 minutes after the whistle Payet scored to make it 2 0. A change from West Ham brought on the man of the moment Emineke who within 2 minutes of coming on had opened his account with a close finish. He wasn't finished yet tho, 8 mins later and a cheeky headed goal made it 4 0 and with the game coming to an end Emineke bagged his hat trick with a 20 yard shot.

A great victory and Emineke proving a point to his manager to start him

Great games Len
