Picked this up in the Xbox sale for £12 (iirc). It's mental.

 

Reminds me a lot of Trials, short intense tracks with immediate respawn/restart buttons (though having them assigned to face buttons where the handbrake often is on racing games did not help me initially!)

 

Local multiplayer looks like it would be a blast too.

I think this one was the worst in the series. I really couldn't stick with it. I hate the handling of the buggys and the trucks and I just find the tracks so uninspired compared to the old ones on PC.

 

Sunrise was amazing back in the day.

I could feel familiar twinges of teeth-gnashing frustration similar to Trials when missing the perfect line. I think this will be a game I'll only be able to play in short bursts.

 

Remember loving Sunrise, think I've still got it somewhere.

I love Trackmania and it's absolutely the weakest of the series.

 

I especially didn't like how you couldn't just play one locale's set of tracks in their entirety, you had to beat the other ones first. Canyon Grand Drift and Stadium are by far the best, and having to suffer through the bloody sand levels to play them was a pain in the arse.

Trackmania United Forever is the best. Trackmania 2 may look nicer but it just doesn't have the instant appeal of United Forever. Also has the best, most mental multiplayer ever which is still getting lots of players. We need a new rllmuk group as the old one got invaded by some twats who just wiped us off the leaderboards.

 

Turbo was okay console fare but you couldn't turn off ghosts which stopped me enjoying it, having my inept see-through car lousing up my concentration. Unless they've patched that out I doubt I'll go back to it.
