The Inside Story of Recording Metal Gear Solid - Game Informer

It's an hour long but I'm two thirds of the way in and it's really enjoyable.

This is absolutely fascinating. It'd work as audio but putting faces to some of the actors (especially Randolph) is wonderful.

Never played the original, although this came out when I was at uni so my housemate was playing it. This was really well done and interesting. Great work tracking all these people down. Would love to see more stuff like this.

It's interesting to hear the real reasons behind the dodgy voices for Twin Snakes as well. Most people assumed it was a payment dispute but seems a lot of it was Konami wanting to remove accents and change how things sounded.

The removal of the accents and very literal translation was Konami (probably Kojima himself), the disinterested performances was probably something else.

Just watched/listened to this. Wonderful to see/hear so many of the cast again! What a cool bunch of people, and a really fascinating insight into the recording process. :)

As someone who only ever played The Twin Snakes and not the original, all this talk of rubbish voice acting has me bemused. Hayter was great as Snake, Mei Ling came across as a super-enthusiastic young California girl, suiting her role perfectly and Naomi Hunter, in her apparently can't-be-arsed style, came across as being very resentful of Snake and reluctant to be a part of the mission at all. Maybe I was blessed by my naivete, but I thought the VA was top notch.
