Tabletop Simulator

I know this is the unplugged folder but some of us don't have the luxury of a board game playing group of mates nearby  I however picked up Tabletop Sim on steam the other day and it looks like a decent solution to the problem. Anyone here use it or fancy taking a noob to the whole board game scene through the initial steps of learning the rules of a couple of games?

In reference to your edited link - I'd looked at tabletopia but it's based on a subscription system which might be decent if y

ou had a group of regulars to play with but TTS (from reviews) seems a better designed (or at lest more mature) engine.

I'd be up for giving it a blast Mortis, I bought TS last week and I'd eventually like to get some Warhammer 40k on the go.  I think starting a bit smaller would be a good idea though!

I'm hoping to get a game of munchkin going over the weekend. It's nice and simple to learn and with 4 - 6 players could be a blast. It's usually about 8pm before I'm online though. If you're free add me on steam.

I haven't actually seen too much about tabletop sim, how is it?

Seems to work well for the few card games I've played and there's no shortage of mods on the workshop.

Found a nice little forum/discord group dedicated to tabletop sim. http://thereddice.enjin.com/home played a few games with them (splendor, citadels, camel up) and they all worked well. 

 Hoping to get a go of secret Hitler tonight to see what all the fuss is about.

What's the legality of playing commercially-available games on this? Given you mentioned Splendor, a game that already has its own digital release, I am surprised some of the mod creators in that situation haven't been hit with a C&D yet.

There's been a couple of games that have been taken down - (munchkin for one) and the makers of TTS are quite eager to get game makers to do official mods where possible but a few of them seem to see it as a good way of raising awareness of their product from a few things I've read.

So I'll bump this for anyone that's bought TTS over the last few sales, it's really good and the community I found http://thereddice.enjin.com/ is growing quite well. If you're looking for a game of something on TTS you should join up - they are a friendly lot.
