NFL and NCAA Season 2016 (newcomers and salty veterans welcome!)

Does anyone know how to stop highlight notifications appearing on the Xbox One? For tonight it's not a problem as I'm watching the game live, but it'd be infuriating if I wanted to watch it later.

I'm so pleased the Cowboys drafted Dak Prescott. Obviously he's not as good as Romo, but he could be once they help him develop.

Some of the play calling was dreadful. Fourth and one, take the field goal or at least run with Lacey!

Rodgers needs to get back to playing at a consistently good level too. There's been too many highlight reel performances in the last twelve months from him. Losing one receiver last year should never have caused us the issues it did, no matter how good he is. It's clear there is a fundamental issue with our offense just now. Personnel, play calling, or our play book being to easy to read for defences, but we're just now shifting the ball down the field in any meaningful way. You really have to think long and hard about when we last put in a really good performance on that side of the ball. If anything our defence has been the key to keeping us alive in many games.

The worst part of last night was that Vikings team was easily there for the beating.

The Rams have played absolute blinders against the Seahawks the last few years. Isn't that something like the 5th win in 6 games against them? That during a time the Rams have been fairly poor and the Seahawks genuine Superbowl contenders.

Wilson was playing with a busted ankle that didn't help them, but that was a game of great defence by both teams, neither offense could get any drives going.

I've supported the Dolphins for 32 years now. I can't remember the last time they looked like even a vaguely threatening team. I just don't understand how they can be so terrible year after year after year. With the draft system, that's got to take some kind of special effort.

Aye. 1 play off season in 14 years, and got absolutely tanned in the wild card game. Whoop! Usually a second team is there as a fallback option later in the season, but with the Phins, you start checking the second team after about three quarters of football in September.

Florida is America's retirement home, where old people go to die alongside dreams of Super Bowls... or even a winning season, which hasn't happened since 2008. Now the only joy is when the Pats' season ends or when the Jets do something funny but both us and the Jets should basically run out in clown shoes instead of cleats.

I agree. Something fundamentally wrong with Rodgers, MM, play calling or all of the above. I've still got the 4th quarter to watch on the way home this evening and I'm not looking forward to it at all.

Vikings held to 17 points in their opening of a new stadium. With the players we have on offence we should be winning those. Lets hope we can bounce back against the Lions next week. And I mean hope, I don't expect it.

I saw this on my twitter feed today - Aaron Rodgers has a 84.4 passer rating over his last 15 regular season games. 58.8 completion percentage, 6.28 yards/attempt. His 16 games prior to last 15: 43 TDs, 4 INTs, 119.8 passer rating, 67.6 completion percentage, 8.8 yards/attempt.

The hell went wrong?!

I must admit I'm not confident about next week based on having watched the two games this season, and what we did last season.

If that had been a one off game you could write it off as a bad day, but a stuttering offense has now been going on for far too long now. I don't expect Nelson to be 100% until week 7/8. He missed all the pre-season and is coming off a bad injury. We've had an age to adapt without him though. Other teams have had bigger blows and reacted better.

I love Rodgers, but outside a few highlight clips he's struggled for a while now. What is hard to tell if it's him, the play calling, or every bloody team in the NFL has figured out our offense! What ever the issue is there a hell of a lot of work required on the practice field required to sort this out. As you say holding the Vikes to 17 at home should signal a win.

I think this is a larger problem for many of them. A lot of the starters didn't see much actual game time in pre-season. I bet Rodgers didn't even have a quarters worth of snaps this pre-season which I think is a huge problem. Could explain some of the simple things that they've got wrong so far. Calling a timeout because they can't get every one set, only to then come back out and try call a timeout again. OL thinking it was a pass, even though it was a run.

All the kind of stuff you supposed to get out of the way in pre-season.

I'm not in full panic mode just yet. We did have 2 playoff games last season and we were decent in those on offence with limited resources at wide receiver. We have a 4 game home stretch now I think so I'll see how we look after those.

If it continues - FULL PANIC MODE! :omg:
