I know that most Punisher films committed to celluloid have to have a laborious back story but I liked that scene he had in the graveyard in Daredevil where he explained what happened. I found the way he told the story terrifying although I can't remember why right now. But it gives me some hope that there will be some depth to it. And if not, I hope they at least resurrect the rhyming tramp character.

I thought we knew it was November? Someone I talk to assumed as much.

I wonder if they can make Frank interesting for what's sure to be 13 episodes, though. He basically boils down to a homicidal nutcase. Not much depth there :P

Read Garth Ennis' entire run of Punisher MAX, that's the best version of the character for my money and basically I just want to see that on screen.  Welcome Back Frank is great too.

Yeah, I completely agree. I could not see the appeal of the character before that run. I think they'll need to lean into the brain trauma/tumour thing to make this version of the Punisher sympathetic enough to work over the course of a series though. We'll see. Jon Bernthal is a super talented guy too, which helps.

So is this a spin on the character's 'origin' that's already been covered in the comics? As the one I know of is that Castle's family were caught in a crossfire between rival gangs, but it was never intentional. I rather liked the randomness of that, and his subsequent waging of war on all criminals as a result.

Not sure how this CIA covert ops conspiracy angle grabs me, by comparison, but the proof'll be in the pudding.

Ohhhh this trailer put a smile on my face. And I'm not even a Metallica fan.

This is gonna be the most brutal Marvel show to date, isn't it :omg:

Edit: there's still no release date for this, is there? I'm kinda hoping for October but maybe end of November is more likely? Don't think they'll want to have it overlap with the second season Stranger Things. Hmmm.
