Last years effort, despite previous years, was my most underplayed game on my shelf. Maybe in-part due to my waning interest in the sport, or maybe due to the issues on launch, again. I just never returned to it.

Reached a content peak in 2013 with the classic tracks and cars, everything else has been a bit of an empty shell.

As far as the safety car for this years, as a pure offline racer myself, I have never EVER seen it used in previous games.

i bought 2015 and played it for about 2 hours after launch before abandoning it. I was playing project cars at the time and the handling didn't compare.

When the F1 season started I thought I'd give it another try, just with the pad. And it's alright. The engine is clearly pretty good and at times the game looks lovely. I ended up completing a season with the pad.

The handling was arcade racer but the nuts and bolts of the engine seemed solid. So if they can fill out the modes a bit more and more importantly nail a good handling model this could be pretty good.

Its hardly earth shattering stuff is it, a leak for this!

True, but the Formula One Management are notoriously shitty about images getting leaked without their/the teams' full approval, which is why I am imagining it got taken down.

During F1 2010's dev cycle there were no screengrabs featuring Mercedes for months because they hadn't signed off the look of the car in game.

I just want some localised weather. Rain coming in mid race & everyone having choose to dash in to get the wets on, or risk staying out since only part of the track is wet as the rain moves in.

Yeah, it would be amazing if Codemasters could implement a feature that GP3 had in 2000.  I doubt it'll happen though, they'd rather focus on fluff that in no way enhances the racing, like an animated press room or the safety car.

1. Make decent handling model for wheels and pad.

2. Make the basics of online actually work.

3. Profit

The problem is, I'd imagine with the F1 license number 3 takes care of itself, so there's no need to bother with 1 or 2.

Tell you what, if they could get some of DriveClub's quality and social aspects in this, I'd be all over it. Last F1 game I bought was 2012.

Any game which has to have yearly updates is going to miss the benefits that those with a longer dev cycle have.

Just saying..

Oh I know but surely the DC folks would be having a word in their ear.

I would love this to be VR enabled.  I know that Dirt Rally is getting support next month so fingers crossed it's the same engine and therefore "easy" (or perhaps more likely) to be added.

This.
