FIFA have said they're going to use video refereeing at the Russian World Cup.

It feels like a good compromise to use video evidence for those specific situations, where the play has already been stopped. It will be interesting with disallowed goals though because players will stop once the whistle has blown, so the attackers get a small advantage if they believe they are onside and continue playing.

If Turf Moor want to celebrate a racist, violent and all together horrible piece of work who has just been convicted of betting for his OWN team to lose then you all must be very desperate for a hero.

Desperate enough for the players to wear shirts with his name on I wonder?

Barton's book (co- written with the excellent Michael Calvin) is worth a read. It didn't make me change my mind on him - he's a vile individual - but it's interesting nonetheless. Not in a dissimilar way to El Diego.

£2m a season to be most regularly seen by people who can't buy their product.

I do suspect that the target market of the entirety of the Far East has a slightly larger capacity than Turf Moor, though.

What the video does not show is the build up Sanchez was getting in the way of the throw. Fuchs should have gotten a yellow as well I suppose.

How d'you work that out fella? Its not illegal to throw the ball at someone. For instance, I once bounced it off the back of a defender from a throw in before everyone else had gotten up the pitch, ran through and scored.

Also, Sanchez should have been booked for not being back the required 2 yards from the throwing point.

Un-sportsman like I suppose. Agree Sanchez was the real mischief. He got his deserved yellow.

But its the same situation as when a guy is standing on the ball on a free kick.. you kick it into him if hasn't moved in time right? He's entitled to have 2 yards space to take the throw, Sanchez being a professional should know that.

Yep Sanchez just being a prick & not giving Fuchs the space needed, Fuchs should have just gotten the attention of the ref.

But then if he had we would not have had the comical Sanchez fall.
