BBC don't go into the details but yes £18 + extra is a pretty good deal. I've been impressed with him considering he had a crap defence at Sunderland. Poor Joe Hart though still looking ...

Pickford for 30Million!

He's a decent keeper but that is a lot of money.

TV deal inflation kicking in, isn't it? £30m is the new £15m.  I dare say fees in the region of £25-30m will become the benchmark for English players on the cusp of the national team.  £50m is your new Champions League level player price.  It's mental, but then it was mental when Roy Keane got £70k a week from Manchester United. Football economics haven't made sense for more than twenty years.

Joe Hart will get a move at some point, I think he has to accept it will be at a mid table club though.  I can still see him ending up at West Ham, it seems like the sort of thing they'd do.

Hang on Theresa May is at this match? A friendly against France. A woman who is wanting HARD BREXIT, and seemingly can't work out to lead the country - doesn't she have anything better to do?!

Hoddle contradicting himself there "let them play, they've only got ten men, they can't play through you" then "they've only got ten men, but this team, when they have the ball, have the ability to play through you"

England are pretty turgid. 11 v 10 and they're mostly on the back foot. Any french attack looks dangerous whereas any English attack breaks down in the final third.

Surprisingly Phil Jones is playing well.

Unsurprisingly John Stones is having a mare

I thought that Jones' square pass before the first France goal put us in trouble.

Nobody really had a great game for us did they?

I wonder if we're at the bursting point of the football finance bubble, Sky are losing viewers.

The English game could end up in the doldrums for a good few years if it does.

I don't really care to be honest. There will be short term pain but the less clubs rely on TV money the better it will be for fans going to games. It will probably end up stacked even more in favour of the big clubs but the 'evenly distributed' TV money isn't exactly making for an even playing field at the moment.
