So they deemed Games TM and Edge to be different enough to not compete with each other. I notice GamesTM now has the Future logo on it but oddly still has the Imagine subscription website pages inside and deals.

I can still see a merge soon. Both Edge and GamesTM haven't been refreshed for years now.

They put a statement up when the deal was first rebuffed. It was something to do with the fact that most readers didnt go online for their news so it would have allowed future to have a complete monopoly that might cause the quality of scifi coverage to drop. It should all be online on the monopolies page still. It's clearly a different set of readers compared to games.

I noticed that as well. It may only be a small price increase, but I find it difficult to justify spending over £5 on a mag each month. I bought Retro Gamer without hesitation (which is still £4.99 BTW), but haven't decided if I want GamesTM yet (the retro section, VR coverage & Vita features look fantastic this month though).

The RG Direct debit is like £15 for 6 months so don't be a wally and sub!

I wish I could, but I live in a flat with a tiny postbox located two floors below. Most things larger than GTM/EDGE mag tend to get mangled on arrival. I was dependent upon sympathetic employers & generous relatives for internet deliveries until the advent of Amazon lockers.

You could always consider getting a PO box or paying the post office to hold onto deliveries. Think it's about £20 a month though!

I had completely missed this happening at the time, but got a letter yesterday saying that my Direct Debit would be changing slightly, so the backoffice changes are starting to properly happen.

I got one of these too... for a subscription to Imagine's Crime magazine that has been cancelled for 6 months. Future have helpfully restarted the subscription under a new direct debit.

Didn't think they could do that. But they did.
