How did Brighton fuck the title up?!

Only needed 3 points from 3 games.

Unlucky for Blackburn, 2 goals difference has to hurt.

Had a good points total too! It's always horrible for a fan in those circumstances. I'm glad it's them and not us though.

I'm surprised Brighton didn't turn Villa over. We played them the other week and although we lost they were shambolic. They were just fortunate we were coming back off such a bad period.

Got my ticket for the home leg of the playoffs vs Reading. They're probably the team at the bottom of my "who would I want Fulham to face in the playoffs" list, but I'm going to go along and have a bloody belter of a day regardless. Jokanovic T Shirt is on its way, and I'm very excited for the big day!

Villa had been on the beach since they drew at Burton which basically ended any slim hopes of a playoff spot, we played well against Brighton yesterday and probably deserved a point.  For all the talk of Brighton bottling it, I'm not sure they will care in August when they kick off in the Premier League.  Maybe they got drunk on promotion, but it's largely irrelevant because they achieved their goal this season.

Think of poor Tranmere in the Conference, 95 points but no autos.

We've ended the season pretty dreadfully, for various reasons. I'm not sure how much momentum matters though really, the three times we've won playoffs we've gone in with poor to middling form and the time we hit them in the middle of a massive league unbeaten run we got twatted in the final. Third favourites with the bookies is probably right and I'll be surprised if we get past Wednesday, they've got a very impressive squad on paper and are strong and aggressive which is what we often struggle against. They've nullified us twice this season and seem very suited to that job. In a one-off game anything can happen but over two legs they'll be strong favourites. Nothing to lose for us now though!

I have a sneaky feeling it'll be Reading going up.

I can't see it myself, we still have games where we play utter shite and get a hammering, so I can't see us playing well for three games on the bounce.

Also it's the playoffs.

As a Reading fan, I have seen us lose three times in finals and twice more in the semi-finals, including once of course to you guys back in 2002, if I remember correctly.

I was there, both legs, best feeling I've ever had at football when that Alex Rae goal went in at your place.

I felt bad for you in the 94/95 final against Bolton, 4-3 wasn't it?

Once Nicky Forster got injured in the first leg, it was really over for us, as that season Alan Pardew had built the whole team around him and never came up with a plan B, for when he was injured.

Yes, it was 4-3 in the end, we were 2-0 up at half time, and we missed a penalty to take us to 3-0.

The only time I have seen Reading win in a final of any sort, was in 1987 when we beat Luton Town 4-1 to lift the Simod Cup.

Well, a poor end to the season for Ipswich. It's been a season wrecked by inconsistency and the lack of a settled line-up.

I've defended McCarthy in the past because of his reputation for putting out solid, unbeatable teams. But that's definitely not the case this season.
