Dunno who I want to win the final - never really liked Reading and Huddersfield lost my respect after the shenanigans at Birmingham.  May the best team win I guess.

Meanwhile, Paul Lambert is going to be a studio guest on SSN at 10am today.  Should be rather interesting as we've not heard a thing about his job situation whatsoever - clearly something has happened but the club haven't said a word!

What, resting some players for our eighth game in April with the playoffs in mind whilst still putting out a team that had made 250 appearances between them over the season? Shame on us for playing the same squad game we've played all season, I guess. Nobody complained when those players drew with a strong Man City side in the cup. Wolves made 8 changes themselves that same weekend despite having no further games to plan for beyond the final league one. The whole hoo-ha was completely absurd and purely based on a bit of deflection from a manager in trouble.

Still burning off the adrenaline after that shootout, not sure how I got any sleep at all

Feel sorry for the decent Wednesday fans of course (awful way to lose etc. etc.) but I've got to say it was delicious for Forestieri to decide it after his diving antics against us over the years. I'm sure he'll be back to being a pain in our arse before too long but in the meantime it's nice to enjoy a bit of karma for him and Jack Hunt. Fair play to the latter for putting one away under immense pressure but I can't believe that five years later Jordan Rhodes is still ducking penalty shootout duties, if I was a Wednesday fan I'd be fuming at that considering the wages he's picking up.

I do think we deserved to go through over the two legs (I'm biased, of course) but once again the games have shown how we struggle to convert our play into goals without a real focal point up front so I imagine the final will be another tight affair, especially since the two games with Reading so far have both finished 1-0 to the home side.

It was against Birmingham, which effectively kept them up so don't expect me to be reasonable, rational, consistent or fair about this!!

Yeah, I was disappointed in Huddersfield's team against Blues too.

Well done on making the final though, would be good if you get up as you almost always beat us.

Having said that, I did predict Reading to go up a few pages ago, so if they win I can look slightly smug, so, win-win for me :)

Aye, my choice would be Huddersfield just for doing something a bit different with regard to the ticket pricing and (hopefully) showing other clubs that you can be a bit more proactive than just bemoaning financial fair play and screwing idiot fans over.

Fulham were the best team I saw all season so its a pity they didn't make it. Second best bizarrely were Derby who absolutely annihilated us without even breaking a sweat (unlike me, who'd inhaled a McDonalds on the way home from work and force marched into town to make it in time for kick-off).

Garry Monk's resigned from the Leeds carousel. Just when they were being sort of stable for a bit!

I'm a temporary Huddersfield fan this weekend, it's just better for me work-wise if they go up :)

I wonder if he's got reservations about the new ownership?  Either that or he's been sounded out for a new job and simply hasn't activated the 12 month extension to his contract.

On second thoughts, scrap that first sentence.  If he's been there for a year under that lunatic Cellino, they could be taken over by the Chuckle Brothers and it'd seem calmer.

What's the deal with Monk's resignation then? The quotes coming from the club point to it firmly being his decision.

Maybe he's been approached by another club.  I'm not a gambling man, but I wonder if it's worth a punt on him taking the Palace job.

New Norwich manager is a beast. Would not mess with.

Looks like Richard Keys less oily brother.

Gary Monk is bound be heading back to the Prem, as Boro (not far from Leeds) and Sunderland (why though?) as well as Palace, are looking for a manager.

Nuno Espirito Santo the firm favourite to replace Paul Lambert at Molineux. I'd be very pleased with that - he tried to play some really good, attractive football at Valencia and Porto. If he can sort out our sorry squad and get used to the league, he could be an inspired choice.

A fuckload of work to do though.

Garry Monk was on a rolling 12 month contract, he resigned before the club could trigger the next 12 month extension.

In the current market he'll get a two or three year contract easily enough and probably on better money too.

It made sense for him to leave.

Pffft, look at all your pitiful clubs trying to better yourselves. You make me sick.

Far better to have strong and stable management from Big Mick and No Nick Name Terry. You don't get to stay in the Championship for 15 years by having ideas above your station.

You don't 'trigger' a 12 month rolling contract, it doesn't expire. I assume it was a 1 year contract with an extra years extension that could be triggered at the end of the season?

It was reported that after a certain date the club had the opportunity to enforce a 12 month extension. So basically he got out before that happened.

There would have been a break clause for both parties I imagine, that no severance was due in the month after the season ended for example.

I have just got back from Wembley and that now makes it 4 defeats out of 4 in playoff finals.

What a fucking terrible game though, fair play to Huddersfield for winning, but my God that was awful to watch and neither team deserved to win as neither really ever went for it.

I am so glad I didn't have to pay for my ticket.

Dreadful game of football - one of the worst games I've seen all season (though never reaching the depths of Wolves v Blackburn) but congratulations to Huddersfield.

I see that they've already been written off next season but it's impossible to make that judgement now - obviously the XI they send out for the opening game is going to be significantly different to the team that played at Wembley yesterday.  Good luck to them.
