We're awful this year, but oddly, we have a load of great players.  Problem is we're a set of talented individuals and not a team.  Also, important at any level of football, we're crap in both boxes.  Our defence is genuinely awful, and we're so short up front.

We have a lot of really talented midfielders, half of them were playing Champions League football last season, but they don't seem to be a unit.

The worrying thing to me is, a few of our better players on on season long loans from Benfica.  If we get pulled into a relegation battle, they really won't give a shit.

I went on a fully justified rant last season as Ipswich came to the Turf and played some of the most turgid shite I'd ever had the misfortune to watch.  If he's doing that week in, week out, no wonder people are pissed off.

He's a good manager but he has a shelf life at a club and that, I think, has passed a while ago for Ipswich.

Fulham we're really good last night though.

Yeah we're looking good again finally! Although we only seem to beat teams that try and play against us, if sides just hang back our lack of threat in front of goal (7 goals scored in 2 games notwithstanding...) becomes pretty apparent. Martin's been much better recently, and it was great seeing him hold up defenders and be involved even if he didn't score on Friday, but I can't help feeling like if we'd kept Dembele we'd be challenging for one of the top spots.

Still, always nice to beat the Brentford on a Friday night!

Carney looked great, his balance and awareness for the second goal was wonderful, I'm glad he got sent off against us last season now!

The only problem with Fulham on Friday I thought was that they never really looked like scoring.  The first goal was pretty much forced across the line.  When that went in though the team seemed to gain a lot of belief in themselves.

For once, as a long suffering fool for QPR, I've a smile on my face. Ollie and Birch back and in charge.

Whilst we are no doubt still in for an up and down ride, I'm delighted that somebody who genuinely appears to care for the club is back in charge.

Ipswich 3-0 QPR

Nope, still don't believe it

Yeah, a good win against a poor team. Could easily have been five or six nil - we had three one-on-ones at the end which we variously squandered / their keeper made a good save. (although our second was an outrageous howler by their keeper - Varney could barely believe his luck).

Everyone played well (which in the case of Douglas just means that he didn't do anything and so didn't have the chance to do anything badly). I think it was Skuze's best game for about two years - did his usual anti-football thing but also played it about, took people on, set up the third goal with an awful shot which inadvertently became a defence splitting pass etc. I still think McCarthy needs to go, and I think he will either at the end of the season or he'll jump if we don't markedly improve.

Don't want to criticise a winning formation / tactic too much as McCarthy made his changes and they obviously worked, but slightly bemused at Williams not playing. He was one of the few spots of light in the loss at home to Forest. I'd hate it to be a money thing (I think, given his injury problems, we only pay wages if he plays) as 1, I'm a huge fan, and 2, it would mean we're even more skint than we all thought.

Perch has just been sent off in the QPR v Wolves game - he should have been sent off for pretty much the same stuff on Saturday (late tackle on our keeper and talked himself into a first yellow, then a stupidly over the top tackle that was a yellow every day of the week that the Ref bottled as he'd already been booked).
