Your experience with this game can vary massively, i played three games on the trot where we were utterly owned as in couldn't get out of the base when attacking owned, they had Reinhardt shielding a bastion who had a healer working in the background, Snipers picking people of ninja dude slicing people up as they came out. Really disheartening.

Fortunately I jumped out and joined another game which was much better, closer fought battle. It just so dependent on your team, if you are being spanked you are just better off jumping out other it becomes a very frustrating experience

Not sure how matchmaking works in this but I've gone from annihilating enemy teams single-handed to my usual 1:1 kill ratio and dicking around giving support. So obviously it's ranking me more appropriately now but I miss the illusion of actually being any good...

Finally spent some time with this (beta) last night. So much fun! Love the combination of original character design and unique abilities, obviously.

The whole atmosphere reminds me a lot of TimeSplitters :D

I am so torn on which version to buy.

I do most of my gaming on the Xbox now, as it just feels more comfortable, but the larger forum base seems to be PS4.

That being said, because I don't know how regularly I can play does it really matter.

I should probably flip a coin on buying day.

Played this til 2am, had tons o' fun except against one team who steamrolled us with 2 turrets on the escort vehicle plus Reinhardt.

The game before I got 19 eliminations as Soldier 76 (who I had written off as the most boring character) with a Mercy following me the whole match, but I was the only one to vote for her.

The number 1 best idea they ever had was not having a scoreboard to check mid match, it entirely changes how people approach the game and opens up playstyles that would be otherwise ignored in pursuit of k/d ratios.

I hope there is an option to kick people in the retail version. So many fecking idiots not knowing what the feck to do even with all the spoken commandos and on screen text/symbols.

I played until just now, 2 hours longer than expected, kept thinking "this match is going to be the last" And now finally the servers are shut down, it seems. I'm sad it's over now, won't be able to afford buying it for a while. :( was amazing fun while it lasted though!

God damn it, can't a grown man not get angry at Internet strangers without the forum gaming up on him.

Still love playing as the Siberian tank. Am getting handy with her ultimate too, good fun. It creates a non-damaging vortex that sucks opponents in and keeps them snared but not stunned for a good three seconds. So many opportunities for massive damage with a team mate's ultimate.

I'll be going PS4. Absolutely can't wait to get back into it. I've gone from moderately interested to a big fan in the space of a beta, and in lieu of having it to play last night I watched a bunch of videos on it instead. That's lead to the main/victory themes getting stuck in my head but, to be honest, they're welcome to stay there as long as they like, great bits of music, just epic.

Had an absolutely fantastic last game on the beta the day before it ended.

I played as Mercy as no-one else was playing as support - I hadn't tried support before so I thought why not.

It was utter chaos

Charging all over the map (The Hollywood film set on Payload as defense) healing the shit out of everyone who needed it.

It was such a close game with the other team getting to each checkpoint with only a few seconds left.

We somehow managed to win with the payload inches away from the finish - that was a damn good feeling.

I got the most votes at the end too!

I didn't want to play any more after that just incase it all went downhill from there

Bring on the 24th! I'll be on the Xbone if anyone wants to team up sometime.

Been playing this on and of for the past couple of days. Wasn`t expecting much going into it but came away very impressed.

Thought my days with FPS had come to an end, but have left the beta wanting more of this!

What impressed me most is how it doesn`t take itself to seriously, fun to play, easy to get into and isn`t focused on highest kill count like most other fps. Case and point, you can`t even see your stats till the game finishes, which stops people focusing on kill count and encourage them to work with the rest of their crew.

Love the line up of playable characters.  Nice variety and encourages you to experiment with them all to see who you prefer.

Started of loving reaper and bastion (setting up in a sweet spot in turret form at attack points really annoys alot of players haha) But after experimenting, Winston came of being one of my favourite characters, even though i didn`t click with him at first.

Overall can`t wait for the final game.  Who is doing this cheapest atm? Saw Blizzard are asking £30 for standard PC version.  Is Origin version worth it as the extra content doesn`t seem worth the asking price.

No minimap makes a big difference in the heat of the battle- sound effects, red damage indicators and tracer rounds suddenly become much more important as they are all you now have to indicate the direction of offscreen enemies.

Since many FPSs use minimaps, its become a skill in itself to spot the "ping" of an enemy dot in the corner of the screen map while at the same time trying to focus as much attention as possible on the action - now, lack of spatial awareness and forgetting to "Check your corners!*" can be even more lethal.

*now includes roofs and ledges!

You can check some of your stats like kills, deaths, objective time etc during the game by pressing tab.

Also the medals are comparing you to your team. Gold medal in eliminations means you got the most kills in your team. Took me a while to figure that out.

They've done a really excellent job in making the game really approachable considering the sheer number and variety of characters. That could be quite forbidding in the hands of another developer, in this it's not intimidating at all to try a character you don't know.

Also, they somehow found a sweet spot of the time to kill - fast enough to be very fun and satisfying, not so fast that you're dying constantly every time you pop your head out in a way that gets frustrating.

Sorry for another Genji video, but here's a heads up; Hanzo's ultimate can be reflected, if only partially.

Needless to say, this could save a whole team if used correctly. Seen groups of people get taken out by that ultimate.

Could this be the game that killed off my interest in Consoles??

I THINK IT COULD BE

at 29.99 for the Standard version,  I purchased it immediately off Battlenet.

Tell you what as well, if you remove the frame rate limits from the PC version it zips along at a slightly faster pace!

Some were saying I was crazy to use a Pad on the PC .. but ive been holding my own ok with it!
