I mean it did happen in OW1, it's just the reduction in team size means, with the number of dps the same, you have a 1/5 chance of being their target rather than 1/6. It's particularly a problem for Zen because unlike all the other supports he's slow and has no quicker method of traversal.

After having finally been able to put in some time with the game, this has to be one of the most cynical products I’ve seen a big publisher release. It makes yearly FIFA releases look like a labour of love. I didn’t think I’d see a BattlePass that was worse than Apex Legends first attempt yet here we are.

Moira has always been a beast. You can quite consistently be top elims and heals on her.

 

One tip you may not know, DVA can eat your purple orbs up with her defense matrix but she can't eat your yellow orbs so heal until she's demeched then wreck the other team with the purple. Same with Signma and his gobble damage skill whatever that is called.

Yeahbyoeur right, top DPS and heals most games. What a great hero. More fun than most healers.... ( I only play healer, I feel they can have the most impact in winning with noob team mates)

Not played her yet but Mercy has apparently become very slow and clunky. Though, when I'm in a game with a decent Mercy it is very hard to out heal them so she still is very capable.

I'd say this is the meta:

 

Tank - Orissa, rein, zarya

 

DPS - tracer, Bob woman, reaper, decent genji (rare)

 

Healer - Moria, mercy, ana

 

The rest are much worse either due to speed, abilities, shields and ult.

 

I love zen but he's sooo slow. If you get a DPS on you now your fucked

Changes:

 

Roadhog could do with a nerf to his health. With his chunky health pool, self healing ability and a support player with at least 3 brain cells he becomes a fucking wall. Added to that he can deal out some serious damage, too.

 

I’m not complaining but Orissa’s damage output seems a little high for a tank given her improved mobility.

 

Kiriko - I need to play her more but I think her damage output could be higher, ideally with increased projectile speed and decreased time between shots. I might just be shit. Her healing seems decent and the grenade is great for some enemy ults, like D.VA’s.

 

As someone said before, Zen is basically useless right now.

 

Junker Queen could do with some armour replacing some health or possibly some retention of the health gained from the commanding about ability when it wears off. She feels a bit flimsy at points and the health steal doesn’t quite cut it.

 

The spawn points on escort maps need some tweaking. I think there’s less time to respawn if you lose your nearer spawn point and get bumped back but I haven’t timed it. Still, it needs some work.

 

Overall they need to do a tutorial for, at the very least, each class of hero (ideally for every hero but that’s a pipe dream). There are a lot of new players not really understanding their jobs, especially in support. They need to give some better feedback for healers other than Mercy, too (that ticking sound when she’s healing or boosting a player doing damage is incredibly satisfying and working it into other support hero’s would be great).

I've played a bit of Overwatch here and there. It was always fine, but I think unless you're in a hyper coordinated group it just feels generally rather unfinessed and pointless. I've watched a fair bit of pro play and there are definitely League of Legends level aspects of play and counterplay to the game, so I'm not shitting on it as a comp platform. I just don't think, even with the reduction to 5 players it's really up there with something like Valorant or Siege in terms of a competitive, challenging, rewarding play experience for a casual player. I played a handful of games and it's.... fine, I guess? Felt like solo queue League or hanging out on something like Burnout Paradise. A lot of flashing colours, bluster and stuff happening for the sake of it. It's fine, but still a bit of a multiplayer shooter for people (in low ELO) who don't really want to play anything remorselessly challenging.

I find the opposite. Im an ex roadhog main and he's garbage this time, no shield and if everyone nukes you it's see you later roadhog. He's still fun to hook people off the levels 

 

Totally agree with all the rest. One major positive is with 22 maps you rarely ever get the same ones in a row, making for great variety.

 

So I won 7 in a row as healer. It put me in bronze 5. How the fuck does that work? Are you saying that all the other healers won 7 in a row too 🤦‍♂️

 

The issue re competitive, is you can only ever do as well as your character. So you can't ever get a 1 v 5 and the one gets an ace, like you can on counterstrike. Like you say you need a good team around you to stand a chance and that doesn't make for good watching. Then anyone serious just plays to the meta anyway and there's little flex, so it you happen to like a non meta character you just get abused.

 

Lastly, with only one tank, your done if your tank DC or quits. The character who drops never gets back filled and your playing two dps and two healers v a full team and you have no chance of winning but have to play the whole match anyway. 

 

I feel like they have learned very little between overwatch one and two as to what makes online games fun and this will suffer the same rate as over watch one. When it's good it's great, but when it's bad, it's one of the worst. For example in my last competitive game we had a good tank and two good healers. Our DPS decided to go widow and hanzo. We basically lost before we started and they refused to swap all game. Fair enough if it was casual but come on, at least give us a fighting chance!

When I was playing Zen last night I had a DVA player constantly screaming that there was no healing. We lost the match then they said "the Zen sucks, never healed". I had had the healing orb on them nearly the whole time as the Moira was off DPSing - they just kept boosting away from me round corners and going off on their own :hmm:

@carlospie a friend of mine just did his 5 support qualifiers in comp and also scored bronze 5. Not sure if he won all of them but he’s a good player.
 

I think I read that ranking is weighted differently, giving more prominence to individual performance too. I haven’t gone into comp yet but maybe no one’s history has been carried over properly.

 

I have mixed feelings on the free to play thing. I’d rather it was a full price releas and I could unlock loads of skins and voice lines as I go and have PVE but I have to concede that that would not bring enough new people in or returning players. Fortnite has changed the competitive online business for good.
 

So it comes down to it I’ll take a battlepass over 15 minute queues for DPS.

200 ahead of me in the queue. 30 minutes later I’m at the front of the queue, but that’s been the case for the last 10 minutes and it just says “connecting”.

 

I haven’t seen the main menu yet in 3 days of trying to connect, let alone played a game. Never mind, I can just play OW1 instead.

Bonkers game where we conceded ever point of the payload right up to the last one then somehow coalesced into a cohesive team and held on. Fucking nuts. When this game is good it is very, very, very good. Unfortunately you have to wade through a mire of shit to get to it.

 

Also I wish people would look out for flanking. Reapers/Soldier 75s getting behind me to kill me gets old really quick.

This. When your healer they just side swipe you and your DPS are oblivious and it just happens time and time again
