The interface is odd, they use a really light blue outline on things like highlights (in career profile) and it’s very hard to see which one is highlighted unless you’re looking for it. Stuff like that I’m amazed got through testing.

I doubt I'll keep playing after Season 1 ends. I'm kind of having fun I think, but the aggressive monetization and the lack of anything exciting makes me care little. I've close to 1000 hours on Overwatch 1 (600 of those as Moira), I've been here before. Again I'm stuck in Gold ping-ponging between Gold 5 and 4.

I also absolutely dread the inevitable Overwatch League which is guaranteed to trigger an influx of characters in Gold nobody knows how to play.

I'm enjoying the gameplay a lot but yeah man I really miss getting a loot crate every now and again. It gave you something to aim for and it was pretty generous. I worked it out last week that you'd have to spend the guts of €700 to get what I have in cosmetics. And I didn't spend a cent on OW1 apart from the retail price.

I probably will keep playing on and off, but no loot boxes and limited means of earning free skins and the like does make playing for free much less rewarding. Bought the battle pass just because I’ve been playing more than expected, but they all become a grind that you feel at some point.

Yeah I thought I had screwed up my HDR settings or something. How the hell does it get released like that? There's another annoying thing where in the pause menu the challenges option is highlighted in orange which initially makes you think that's what your cursor is on, but it's obviously not. Just weird all round.

I’ve been playing pretty casually and can feel already that once I hit 80 in a week or two I may not play as much

In comparison I play Genshin pretty much daily as even if I log in just to do comissions (essentially dailies) I’m rewarded with some currency

Blizz need to look at their rewards system and quickly or I feel that a lot of folks are only going to play super casually imo

I think you’re probably right as that’s how the players view things but whilst I think the skin prices are too high in many cases, Overwatch 2 gives a hell of a lot away for free and, in reality, there’s no proper grind in terms of levelling up characters or (in OW1 roster terms) unlocking them*.

*I believe new players get heroes drip fed but that seems like more of a balancing thing.

I can’t speak for anyone else but having had about 2000 hours worth on OW1, I got my money’s worth.

I think from a business perspective they should probably give out some currency with the battle pass (both free and paid tiers, more with the latter) and I imagine they probably will down the line. If the skins were cheaper I’d be buying some of them for sure. But I’m not complaining and I think both the battlepass content offering and what you get from the off is far superior to, say, Apex Legends and - currency drops aside - broadly on par with Fortnite.

Oh I’ll take this structure if it means more stuff and frequent updates, and of course skins and such are how they’ll make their money. But I think they need to hit a sweet spot whereby folks can purchase at least some stuff with earned/rewarded coins within a reasonable timeframe

I did my first rage quit last night. Actually it's more accurate to call it "fuck this noise, I'd rather go to bed than deal with this bullshit"-quit because the concept of grouping up and waiting for team mates to respawn was seemingly alien to my team. Not the first time but definitely the worst instance of it.

I nearly had one the other day, playing support on Nepal with the usual "heals are shit" comments when heals are on par but heir elims are1/3 of the enemies. I wanted to keep playing though so went "Let's see how well you do without them" and took my Lucio flanking instead. We lost  but I ended up with the same more elims than the tank or dps.

"Role diff" comments are pure projection.

Also, had an enemy Ana last night accusing our Hog of hacking because her nades weren't stopping his healing. Obviously she hasn't learned about Kiri's cleanse ability yet.

Kirikos ability is utter BS. It undoes Reins shatter, Sigs Gravity, Meis freeze and because it makes people invincible can completely negate a junk tire similar to how a zen ult would, and this is every 15 seconds or so. Absolutely nuts skill almost as bad as Mercys original res ability in OW.

I’ve been playing this a lot on Switch but now my Steam Deck install seems to have stabilised, this is a bloody revelation. Apart from the fact I am getting annihilated buy KBM players. Great practice though and I’ve managed to finish top damage, kills and healing as Moira a few times.

But still. Fuck Genji.

Yeah, I'm a bad Kiriko. Should burn that cleanse and invulnerability into my memory, seen some fine uses of it by others - not so much to cleanse, just to stay alive at clutch moments. Support > DPS.

Nobody commented on my comment about this, but skip 30 seconds into this track and it's bloody lovely.

Very rarely is Genji more than a pest to Moira. Jump and deflect all you want while I run with my healing orb and laugh at your acrobatics. Reaper is infinitely more lethal.

Tried Junkenstein 2.0, how does Kiriko work 😅 Her healing feels... weird.

I don't think I've received anything. That said, with 1000 hours in OW1 and hundreds of cosmetics unlocked there's not much I could be given. I'd like a phat new skin though, I had (or still have, no idea how currency works in this game) like a ridiculous amount of credits.

Best thing with kiriko is play a few games and focus purely on healing. Then get used to throwing her little pot at the right time, then start adding a bit of damage. She's all about teleporting to a brother in need, healing, then teleporting to the next. Definitely S tier with Lucio.
