The Great British Bake Off 2016

Such a silly decision . The BBC revised the offer and it was still rejected , Love productions have said its not about the money but about brand development . I'm sorry but that's bollocks , the show has 10 million plus viewers and is in every paper for the entirety of each series . It would never have got anywhere near commercial TV and is exactly the sort of show BBC do superbly well , how much brand development do you want? . It will be utter shite on ITV with phone voting and adverts and sponsorship. Channel 4 would be ok but it may end up on sky.

To to be fair though I think it may have started to have run its course . This season is definitely feeling a bit tired .

I'm not a big bake off viewer, (my girlfriend obviously loves it - women, eh?) but I did wonder if trying to make huge deal about how the dampfnudeln were a bake off first and then the incoming first-ever "batter" week that it might be coming towards needing refreshment at the very least.

It'll toddle off to ITV where no-one will ever watch it again. Just like The Voice will next year. Or Peston, or Susanna Reid or Clarkson and Top Gear.

It's obviously about money. I mean they are going to get about half the viewers on channel 4. Besides there's nothing to stop the BBC coming up with something similar. Take strictly for example. It only really works because it's on the BBC. Everyone else has tried similar stuff and it's died a death. People, old people in particular, like the BBC because it's familiar and has no adverts. Also when they get things right, the really get things right.

I hope the gossip about Hollywood, Berry, Mel and Sue being loyal to BBC turns out to be true. My head tells me tho that they'll get offered a wedge and promptly sign up..

Wouldnt surprise me if the BBC try some kind of new show with them instead. It won't be as popular on C4 at all. They will still get numbers but I think around the 7mil mark.

The chemistry of Paul and Mary plus the double entendre magic of Mel

and Sue make the show what it is . Without them it would struggle I think . Mel and Sue in particular have been vocal

in their beleif it should stay on BBC .

Wont be long before they swap mel and the other one for Davina McCall and Jimmy Carr and get a few variants out of it with Naked Bake Off, Para Bake Off and 9 out of ten cats do Bake Off.

Please not with Mary Berry.

At least it's not ITV. I wonder how much they paid for it.

£25 million a year for three years. Netflix and ITV put in higher bids but were turned down. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/09/12/bbc-loses-great-british-bake-off/

That seems one hell of a gamble if they haven't negotiated any of the presenters as part of the deal.

That's a shame, I won't bother if it's on C4. I'm not interested in seeing what it would be like with any changes, it's kind of a twee thing anyway and I'm not really sure what I like about it in the first place. Not adverts and knowing but never too rude channel 4 presenters and sponsors and all that shit.

Shame. I was hoping Channel 5 would win it because you know I just love watching the those retched waste of space human beings they like to employ from Geordie Shore and I got fisted on the beach.

Imagine the first episode. The winning entry would be an Apple Pie with a glory hole.

We don't need to hear about your holiday.

I detest Sue Perkins so would not miss her but as the show will be quite awful with adverts every ten minutes I'll be passing anyway.

As I'm not really enjoying this series too much, and agree with others who suggest that it has peaked and begun it's decline, it's not going to bother me too much but it's hard to imagine what Channel 4 can offer the format other than glossy ruin..
