"Quick! Get to the bunker!"

Awesome, I'll be watching this later then.

Watched "what we do in the shadows" yesterday and thought it was great.

Saw this the other day and thought it was great! My biggest lol was

Spoiler

Shit just got real!

It came out of nowhere for me, because I'd never heard of the director before. I'll be checking his other films for sure.

Even I really liked this film.

No one can actively dislike this film !

It's goofy but not twee or try-hard quirky in ways that might antagonise people, nor features any actors that people hate. I can't think of anything that might make it a target for a backlash, it seems all round hate-proof.

Spoiler

The Sarah Connor joke is amazing.

..Hang on, I just checked rotten tomatoes. I won't repeat what Richard Brody of The New Yorker said, only that...oh no I found another one...it hurts, it hurts, no more...*clicks next page*, they're spreading ! ...people who write for the telegraph aren't human anyway. I always find the use of 'You' in film reviews curious, it should not just always assume, should be 'I wished I could have been on my way a whole hour before it limped to a close'. Like half an hour in...

This film could warm any cold heart. Mostly.

What a brilliant movie! So subtle in how it builds the relationships throughout, incredible setting and a beautiful soundtrack.

The chase toward the end and the music that accompanied it was just a perfect way to bring things to an end.

Watching that scene took me back to my childhood and the first time I watched Short Circuit 2. Johnny 5 close to death, racing along the pier, I need a hero blaring! Its been a long time since a film has made me feel like I did as a kid watching movies but this achieved that comfortably. Amazing!

Finally got around to watching this the other night. Really enjoyed it and thought it was funny and moving. Plus it had a great soundtrack. Really enjoyed What We Do In the Shadows and Eagle Vs Shark too so will need to give Boy a watch soon as well.

One bit did get me a bit teary eyed:

Spoiler

When the boar got the dog and it had to be killed. Not great seeing that 2 days after my dog had just died :(

It's a bloody hard enough scene to get through when you ain't grieving, so fair play.

  • 2 weeks later...

Saw this the other day. It's been on my Netflix list for a few weeks, and I could somehow never get round to hitting play, thinking, "Well, it's supposed to be good, but I dunno, it can't be that good!"

I was wrong. It's brilliant.

Spoiler

That scene with Sam Neil wailing over the body of his dead wife near the washing line got me a bit choked up. Really took me by surprise how hard that hit me.
