Sleaford Mods

Yeah Blossoms trounced him there. They're spot on too. Unlike say, Oasis, who were genuinely the band of the people, the only people listening to Sleaford Mods are middle class Guardian readers and Culture Show fans. They'll never have any broader appeal. Nothing wrong with that but no point picking fights with kids half your age, you look like a twat.

You can see why Noel Gallagher accuses him of being mentally ill when you read that. If you can accuse someone of that, and it's not just an insult. Respect to them for not allowing Guinness to use their music in an advert, though. I'd agree to it if I was in the same position, unless like Blur's The Universal the track would become so synonymous with, in Blur's case British Gas, that it'd ruin it. But then who watches TV, or TV adverts anymore. Depends how blatant it is. If it's the difference between paying off the mortgage or not..

Yeah I used to really respect artists for not allowing their music on adverts but these days it doesn't really bother me. I think most people in that situation would take the cash. So long as you don't overdo it, like Moby, no one's really going to think badly of you.

I don't agree, but I've turned a blind eye to Boards of Canada in a car ad. Put it down to the early days.

As someone that likes all the old bands like Pop Will Eat Itself, The Prodigy ( which as you know came true with ibiza )  and generally anything shouty like Rage Against The Machine  Sleaford Mods sit very well with me and as i said before its a bloody good job I saw them live a few times before all the bandwagon jumpers got onboard. The current tour will certainly be " fun " in the crowd

a couple of years ago at Sub 89 in Reading, the barrier went flying!

looking forward to it all really :)
