I'm at home sick as a dog today and I didn't want to make it worse by playing any 3D games so I pulled out the old C64 and booted up Raid on Bungeling Bay.

It's an ancient top down shooter notable because it was one of Will Wrights early games. Apparently designing the cities in the game inspired him to make Sim City.

Anyway knowing this bit of ionformation I started playing around with it and it dawned on me that there's some simulation work happening under the hood. I followed some planes that had strafed my carrier back to their island and they actually landed on a runway, paused for refueling and then took back off. I suspect there's a lot more simulation programmed in that I had no idea about.
