I was playing wireless yesterday and had a connection error with first match I tried to join so I changed my DNS settings to OpenDNS and no issues for rest of the session. Probably just a coincidence but might be worth trying.

There are actually 7 weight classes in MK8. I think the general consensus is to avoid the super heavyweights, but medium/heavy is better than getting clattered as a baby lightweight. But i'm no expert.

Here's the stat chart:

Blimey!  I am clearly stuck in the dark ages.

Where is King Boo though?

Edit: Seen that this was probably pre-DLC, didn't realise he was a DLC character along with Link.

I feel a bit bad for Rosalina being in the same weight class as Donkey Kong.

King Boo wasn't DLC. He's a new character for the Switch version along with Inkling boy and girl.

Number 1 in the UK. :)

Quote

Nintendo Switch has secured its first UK No.1 with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

In fact, it's the first Nintendo boxed game to get to No.1 since 2011, when the format holder topped the charts with Pokémon White on DS. It's also the first Mario game to reach the top of the charts since Mario Kart Wii in 2008.

Nintendo used the launch of its racer to ship more Switch stock to retailers, which has seen The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild return to the Top Five (at No.5) with a 68% increase in sales week-on-week.

Wario heavier than DK? Madness.

Oh my god. Just docked my switch for the first time since getting this and completed the last two cups I needed on 150cc. It looks incredible in hand held but Christ, docked is just mind blowing. It's a tour de flipping force this.

Yeah, it looks absolutely phenomenal. So much track side detail that, after hundreds of hours of play, I'm still noticing new bits here and there. There's simply never any grey area.

Fully intended to complete 200cc last night but I ended up playing the very first track in Time Trial mode instead. I love Mario Kart so much.

What's your best time? It's the only course I've tried so far, something like 1:33 in 200cc.

I'd be very impressed if your 6 year old niece showed you how to bring up the SNES mini map in MK8D:

I ordered one as I was having constant connection errors the other day but this morning, it's been fine - 100%. Is it the time of day you play perhaps? The errors were happening on day one at 6pm-8pm but this AM, no issues. I won a race too, came 2nd, 2nd, 3rd, 2nd and then my kids got out of bed and they're rubbish so all my points have disappeared. It's infuriating watching them just waste all the power-ups. I will be hard wiring for Splatoon - there's nothing worse than a connection error in a Ranked match when you're a few points off going up a level and you're obviously going to win and then BOOM, it cuts you off.

I was more referring to the spotty wi-fi connection the Switch seems to have. I didn't want to take the chance that my hard-earned fifth places could be lost due to a desync. :D

Also, I'm in North America so I wanted to have as good a connection as possible playing everyone over there. The races I had were rock solid for me, I'd be interested to see how I looked on the other players' screens.

I've only done it in 150cc so far because I wanted to beat a friend's time. I got 1:44.something and @Rudderless immediately posted a time slightly faster.
