Anyone here play Salmon Run regularly, or any MP for that matter? It would be nice to team up with people who aren't random for a change.

I don't play regularly as such, but with a little notice I am bang up for Salmon Run.

What’s a 100x battle?

10× and 100× battles only happen during a Splatfest - they give you the appropriate multiplier to your Clout score if you win. If you have team synergy, you also get that multiplier on top - so the one I won last night gave us 100× and then multiplied that by 1.5× on top because we all had the same haircut and hat.

You'll get the battles occasionally - I believe there's one 10× battle a minute during a Splatfest, and one 100× battle every ten minutes.

Forgot to scrub my shirt. Oops.

Made the top rank on every Splatfest except one when there was that run of three on consecutive weekends. Bought a Switch mainly because this was in development. It's been a wicked couple of years, approaching 400 hours, and I still haven't got round to playing the League mode nor really giving Ranked a serious go.

What a brilliant game.

Despite winning a significantly higher portion of the popular vote, the actual match results where in 1-2% off each other. Like 51 v 49. Which means, statistically, Order were the better team and chaos only won because it had more players.

Thanks.

As with ARMS, this feels premature. Splatoon 2 could've had legs for another 2-3 years.

Splatoon hasn't finished - it's still there, just no splatfest events. The community is not going away. They are even adding an update to make the maps etc available as well from now on. Talk that it's 'over' is way premature.

Re: the negs - Any online game where you can hit an opponent and then have them turn round and one shot you is bullshit - it's either bad hitreg or poor weapon balancing. Fortnite is a prime culprit with this, but it's up front about it's RNG so it can be mitigated in a paper-scissors-stone sort of way once you know how it works. With Splatoon the lack of transparency with modifiers and stats is an issue, and given the console has wifi issues I suspect it's more to do with connection and hitreg than weapon balancing because performance is so inconsistent.

What a load of rubbish - totally depends on the weapon you are using - some fire rapidly but will have less power, some fire slow but are much more one-shot. If you hit somebody wielding a blaster you just need to make sure you carry on hitting them before they have chance to blow your squid backside away in return. There is no lack of transparency at all. The weapon balancing is actually incredible - the starter weapons are just as good as anything else you get ever, later weapons are not better, just different.

Every online game I've ever played has had matches where high latency can result in "how did that happen" moments. This is true of Gears, Halo, Fortnite, CoD, Battlefield and countless others so I'm not sure why you've decided to single out Splatoon?

There's no lack of transparency with modifiers and stats - as with other online games all of the weapon and item stats are available online. The in-game item descriptions tell you what the benefits are, just not the super-detailed Excel spreadsheet stuff - again like almost every other online game. The game tells you what weapons, clothing and buffs the player that killed you was using.
