Let’s play ‘Mechanics We’d Like to See’

I think some kind of debuff which requires another guardian to be within close range with you to cancel out. The debuff could be no health regen, reduced damage etc. If more than one guardian is close to you, you have an overload buff and go boom.

Also a new error code: Squid. Where my teammates stop playing Destiny and go back to Splatoon 2 ;)

God damn it I DEed my Restless Midnight in rush to get Mida.

There's literally nothing I can do but constant strikes for REP and how RNG is good right?

(Edit - Oh...suppose I could level up a different character to get to the quest reward - you can do that from the 2 strikes quest you get as soon as strikes open right? It's not 20/post main quest)

Wanted: approx 3 more raid buddies for fumbles in the Darkness starting at around 7-8pm tonight. Would prefer to have GSOH, their own guns and at approx 270-280 light but it's not that important. Even Warlocks.

Would need at least a couple of hours spare to Groundhog Day it until some progress is made though.

Some sort of platforming element that takes everyone a different amount of time to complete, allowing those that have already got through to try and push each other to their deaths.

Other raid groups put most of their time and effort into killing each other too right?

I'm hoping another jump section like Kings Fall. No end of amusement listening to Warlocks curse over comms as they plummet to their deaths.

Hey! When we did that I was still a (the only?) Warlock and I was about the only person that normally didn't have any problems!*

I am actually worried that I;ll have more trouble with the Hunter jump on any Raid jumping section, if it gets too intricate, though I doubt it, as I'm used to (and prefer) it now.

Also, pleasingly, RNGesus (or, more accurately, Shaxx) started smiling upon me again earlier after you left - I didn't get too much higher (273 now), but when I handed in the Crucible quest I finally got that purple chest I needed to stop my OCD screaming at me and a better Orpheus Rig. Infused Borealis up to 270ish too, because options.

^ normally = not always. :P

Oh yes. You should've seen some of the elaborate ways we came up with to kill each other before the Oryx fight in KF. Think an area being almost entirely surrounded by an eight-foot wall will stop us pushing you to your death while you go make yourself a cuppa? WRONG!

> Boss fights that's aren't add phases with an immune boss until a "Do all the damage you can in this window". Constant fights, even if some phases are more/less damage.

> Boss fights that require super use (even if it's just "only supers damage boss etc) rather than gun play (with supers mainly used to buff damage)

> Use of elements more. The exploding shields and energy weapons in the game so far make me think this will be a thing

>Fights that don't put everything on one or two people (e.g. the golem fight in KF with the 2 people popping his back or Oryx where it's all on one Jumper) and if they muck up it's unrecoverable

>Ammo not to be an issue - drops in fight should be plentiful enough that you're scrambling around looking. Mechanics should be the challenge, not "Why is now power ammo dropping?!?!?"

Tbh I liked all the Siva Raid alot, and given the change they've made into most of D2 I'm not worried. :)

I've not played much Crucible in this yet, but I'm delighted to see that Shaxx continues to be a barking mad bastard. Pretty sure this is verbatim from the end of my last match:

"You looked into your enemy's eyes and you SPAT IN THEM! You FIEND!"

Whenever I passed him over during the campaign he was bitching that everyone was more concerned with the fate of the galaxy than fighting in the Crucible.

I fucking love Shaxx.

"Hey Guardian I know you're busy [off to destroy a super weapon] but the Cruicible has never been more important" was when I lost it with Shaxx.

That and, at that point in the story I was the only one with light. Shaxx stop asking me, someone with magic and immortal, to go find some pleb humans :P

Faaaark, flashpoint, nightfall and an afternoon grinding public events on Titan I've jumped 13 levels to 265, just in time for tonight

It’s raining exotics today, just dicking around and have had 2 in last hour - one from the gunsmith and just now another from failsafe!

Bit bored of dupes tho...

You can get exotics from turning in those rep token thingys?

Yep, I totally agree. I think Aksis was the best raid fight overall. Everyone has a job to do as cannoneer or bomb thrower to take down the shield, the empowerment mechanic can involve anyone and requires proper communication and coordination, but the four pillars gave you a safety net if you mess things up once (or twice at a push).

My first time finishing Aksis on Heroic with two players dead for most of it is right up there with my only trip to the Lighthouse as my favourite D1 memory.

You'll get there. It doesn't take long at all, and tbh many people here have done little but play the game since its release, or been mega lucky with the rng, hence why they seem so far ahead.  The raid is also something that will be done every week for a least a couple of months by many on here, so you'll have plenty of time to catch up.

I haven't had loads of time to play at all, but I've still managed to beat the story and get to light level 265 in time for the raid opening. The beauty of destiny is you can play for five minutes or five hours, and still feel you've accomplished something, even if it's just a patrol or two.

These are all very smart points and I think will be right on the money. They'll have to design yellow bars into the flow of the thing to ensure we have power ammo; that I assume means the shield-shatter nuke will be v important. In fact I hope it's a mechanic in one section, because it's just tremendous fun.

I could honestly do without a jumping puzzle, they're just too expected at this point and while they're very funny and I get the need for light relief, I'd like to see them try something new. As long as it's not another maze anyway. Mazes can do one.

I think the raid hand cannon is going to be the best gun in the game. Luke Smith must have referenced it a dozen times in interviews by now. I look forward to Donut getting one from every boss, loot table be damned.

For those who are yet to complete the R** K*** quest fully (inc Nightfall +5mins) - you need to have someone in your fireteam who hasn't completed the quest at each phase for it to register as a completion (this much we already knew), but apparently it also works if the accompanying person(s) has/have completed the quest but have the R** K*** equipped at the end of it.

Not tested, just assured that it is the case.

Dont forget 5 hidden chests in hard to reach places that could drop an Exotic weapon but will probably just drop a Titan skirt or a Warlock armband, for the 200th time.
