Wanted: approx 3 more raid buddies for fumbles in the Darkness starting at around 7-8pm tonight. Would prefer to have GSOH, their own guns and at approx 270-280 light but it's not that important. Even Warlocks.

We have inadvertently implemented (i.e. nobody has one) a strict no warlocks policy in the "Ready, Steady, RAID!" team.

Cayde-6's treasure maps? What have I missed..

Are these different from the regional chests?

He just loves dropping these spoiler bombs does our Mark.

(Don't let him in here after the raid!)

Okay, a few questions because I don't really understand things anymore:

1) Should I bother checking under stairwells and behind trees for sneaky, secret chests when on missions because I have had piss all joy with that so far and fear it may be a hilariously passé gaming trick?

2) Should I be waiting for the endgame before doing sidequests (adventures?) a la Borderlands to get higher level stuff?

3) What are the buttons?

4) Are you matched by gear level in the PVP because currently I am rolling up head to toe in Oxfam's winter collection with woodwind spudguns and getting a fucking paddling.

5) Is there anything else I shouldn't be doing?

That's it for now. Well done everyone in advance.

No probably not on missions, but when you're free-roaming you might hear a shiny, tinkly kind of sound. Start looking around then and you'll either find a collectible or a chest then.

2) Should I be waiting for the endgame before doing sidequests (adventures?) a la Borderlands to get higher level stuff?

That's entirely up to you. Seriously. The rewards will level with you (or at least they've seemed to for me) soooo...

3) What are the buttons?

RT is bang.

4) Are you matched by gear level in the PVP because currently I am rolling up head to toe in Oxfam's winter collection with woodwind spudguns and getting a fucking paddling.

Gear and power levels are actually disabled in normal Crucible matches, so it'll all be about your abilities by then. By which I mean, how quickly your health recharges and how fast you can reload your gun (etc...). If the other guy has an auto rifle that has better recoil and reload than you, he'll have the edge while he's aiming for your noggin.

5) Is there anything else I shouldn't be doing?

This is a massive improvement over Destiny 1 in terms of starting fresh and for noobs. It's hard to go wrong, although there is a desirable route to do things after the story is over if you want to power level. I actually don't recommend that because, personally, I find it sucks the fun out of the activities.

That's it for now. Well done everyone in advance.

Where do you find fallen raider chests?

If that's one of your missions when free roaming I think that those kind of messages refer to the secret tinkly chests you can sometimes hear dotted around. They're not the specially marked regional chests.

I'm loving the secret loot cache places. Can't remember what they're called.

Brilliant little battle rooms rooms with a nice loot chest at the end of it. Fun looking for the symbols too.

Sadly my virgin media router decided to pack up this afternoon so I'm out until the man brings me my new destiny box on Friday. :(

I assume because I am a lowly level 10 ish with no clan and no friends I cannot join in with the raids?

I feel like I am missing out on huge aspects of the game because I don't have the time to max out my character?

Do not worry.

I know a lot of people who have just played through the campaign single player whilst getting involved with others only in public events. Doing that is still great fun and will get you to level 20 easily.

Then you can always do vanguard strikes and crucible stuff with randoms. I've done quite a few strikes that way and it's still an exhilarating experience. By the time you are into in past 20 just look out for shout outs on here to start doing the strikes and raids etc. I have yet to do any coop with people I know (i plan to) and I am hugely enjoying it.
