So I realise I'm a bit behind everyone, but I've just moved house and we finally get the internet connection going live today. Copy of the game is sat in the PS4, ready to roll - but what should I be doing first? Single player campaign? Something different entirely?

I would start by creating a warlock. the rest will fall into place.

Thanks for showing me the new Tower. Once I get to that stage in the game I'll have a good look around the place.

sorry about that Jerec (spoilered now). or your welcome if you were not being sarcastic.

I wouldn't worry, I'm holding at level 20 and still not finished the story as have to wait for mates so we can all go through together (means can bring my alts up though and play more everybody's golf). This raid business is but a distant dream at the moment.

Just play through the story and a few side adventures as they pop up and you'll be good.

I really dislike Failsafe. If all her lines had been in the sing-song voice, she'd be significantly less grating (if maybe a bit too GLaDOS?), but the sullen asides are awfully delivered.

Still, didn't get to play any of this yesterday, so looking forward to making up for that tonight; need more Crucible in my life.

They never become irrelevant because your health does not increase past a certain point. Even at max Light you can still die if you do not respect the encounter. Your weapon damage is however increased which makes every encounter last shorter. Also, there is a nifty mechanic for most if not all bosses that you can not skip/overpower.

one thing of note on the 30 frames per second thing (yes that again). is that people comparing it to other console shooters failed to realise how much more is happening here in terms of simultaneous AI and particle effects in one scene. without a single frame dropped. during the raid yesterday there were bits I could barely see what the fuck was going on. one thing was certain though:

bathers

 were being bashed.

Now I'm at level twenty, is waiting till I get a power level of 265 the thing to do with handing in edz tokens and what not to the NPC's on each planet?

yep. or crucible. or strikes. or turning in resources. or opening chests. or completing post campaign quests. or completing public events. or meditating.

IIRC you can do them now and they'll level you up the same as any normal legendary engrams to 265

The only things some people leave is the "Powerful Gear" rewards for Milestones in the director ("Luminious Engrams I think they are)

No, you should use those whenever you like. It's luminous engrams (a.k.a. 'powerful gear') that you should keep, if possible, until you're over 265. Those and quests - the blue flag things - because most of them end up in exotics, and it's exotics and luminous engrams/powerful gear that keep dropping over your current level when you're 265 or over. Powerful gear normally comes from (almost all of) the weekly milestones, so save them until you're higher if you can.
