The Ikelos SMG with feeding frenzy and voltshot is absolutely insane, by the way. I'm trying to get builds together for the other subclasses after playing exclusively Arc since I came back to the game alongside Arc 3.0 but they all feel like a step back because the Ikelos just melts stuff.

The Calus version of the mini-tool with Incendiary is amazing with Solar builds (or at least the Titan, especially with the mandatory Solar Titan Helmet.)

Anyone fancy teaming up? PSN: MonkeyJuggleDX

Sure, add us up on mikeylrocks for optimum glaive strats and patrol carries.

The new mission is pretty nice, might be a bit long. A little solo raid. Did it on legend and did the heist on legend and neither seemed especially taxing, which is great, so many invincible options these days, but miss a tiny little the constant stress and sweats of constantly being one shotted back into orbit.

Ah yes, I need to get that crafted. I've been doing some Dares the last few nights for the Dawning stuff and got both the trace rifle and LMG with Incandescent, very much looking forward to trying them out.

While I'm here, if I could fix one thing about this game it would be fucking Ada-1 and her fucking emporium of rotating disappointment. If I had a penny for every build video I've sadly backed out of the moment they mention Seeking Wells...

It'll email you when it's next in the rotation so you can log in and grab it. :)

Yeah the Seraph Station mission was really enjoyable and definitely the best exotic mission since Presage. The central puzzle with the windows was just clever enough to  make you think for a bit before it became obvious without being as oblique as your average raid (or indeed some of the more recent dungeons).

Appreciated it was definitely designed to be done solo too just like Presage. Still never managed to clear Vox Obscura alone due to the bloody time limit, but this never felt overwhelming on normal. Still have to try a Legendary run mind.

This has been a very enjoyable season so far after two weaker ones. Shame that would appear to be it for new content now so the rest of the season is just going to be runs of what we already have; having the six story based and discrete missions in Haunted was a nice touch for variety.

Some nice seasonal weapons this time too; really likely the legendary trace and the bow.

I was a bit clumsy with the floor tiles in that puzzle room because I wasn't checking where my feet were. And elsewhere I had the occasional derp moment where I couldn't find a particular augment (the scanner, operator, suppressor things) to proceed. However, it's a nice, tight experience overall.

Feeling a bit of trepidation hearing about this Seraph mission, as I’ve only attempted dungeons and raids once because the puzzle elements really got on my nerves!

I started it this morning but got kicked and it reset, but it seems very logical and straightforward, just more involved than run, shoot, move on, run shoot etc. Also you can just Google a guide.

That sounds ok. I did hear that dungeons and raids used to be more straightforward before Bungie took them on a puzzle slant. No idea how true that is as still pretty new to the game.

Nothing wrong with using a little help here and there to get through, but Seraph really is manageable alone and not too puzzley. The dungeons are the best part for me, can be done alone or as a group and the gear this season is worth it. Prophecy, after the bustard first boss is great, visually and gameplay. I haven't tried Duality yet though.

Am I the only person that didn't like the jumping sections in the Witch Queen main quests? Never got on with first person games and jumping platform sections.

Also, anyone able to help me with the best build for my Titan?

Current load out is:

Sunbreaker subclass

Kinetic: 1550 Disparity pulse rifle

Energy: 1543 Apostate sniper rifle

Power: 1546 Truth Exotic rocket launcher

1547 Reverie Dawn Helm

1546 Reverie Dawn Gauntlets

1544 Cuirass of the Falling Star

1547 Reverie Dawn Greaves

1544 Reverie Dawn Mark

If you are struggling with first person jumping pop a sword on whilst you do the jumping puzzle as that will put you in third person.

Can’t help with a Titan build as I only play Hunter but with any Destiny build your starting point is what do you want to do as there are so many options.

Cuirass of the Falling Star is pointless on a Solar Titan, as the point of it is to make the Thundercrash more deadly. So you'd either want to switch to Arc, or find a good Solar Titan Exotic. The best Solar Exotic is probably still the Loreley Splendor, which gives you instant regen and regen buff and deploys a Sunspot whenever you're critically damaged.

looking at the requirements to get it, there’s no way I’ll ever be able to do that!

Oh, it's a Lost Sector one? Firstly, yes you can do that. Secondly, if not then the Solar chest is OK (Hallowfire Heart) but Heart of Inmost Light is probably the most broad-based great Exotic.

Or go Arc and the Cuirass! Get a gun or two with Voltshot on it, and you're laughing.

If you wanna use fire Titan then I’d be hunting down the Lorely Splendour helmet from a legend lost sector (might come at the end of the Witch queen Campaign too but it’ll have shit rolls). But I will guarantee you will never die again wearing that thing. In general, your play is built around the exotic you’re wearing.

Maximise as much resilience (100 is basically invincibility) as possible, then recovery then either strength or discipline depending on if you like punching or grenades more. See if https://d2armorpicker.com/#/login can help maximise your stats.

Your guns are whatever you like to use the most, something to smash something far away, something to smash something closer, something to smash a lot of things very quickly. Never double primary! Whatever makes you happy.

(so you got Witch Queen then?)

Yeah, I succumbed.

I did the quest after many many deaths. It’s not the enemies, it’s all the traps that got me.

I’ll add you as I will eventually get round to doing the nightfall strikes and will definitely need help with them!

Does annoy me that there are so few options for changing the look of exotic armour. I appreciate they want to sell different looks, but if none of them are to your taste then you’re pretty much buggered. Plus, you cannot ever wear a full, matching set.

I use HOIL as a Titan but the look of it has been gradually irritating me to the point that I may change armour just because of it.

Did someone say Titan build?

Looks pretty friendly build-wise too given Synthoceps is one of the easier exotics to come by, likewise Tractor Cannon, and the mod requirements are very flexible. Requires the new seasonal solar glaive with Close To Melee and I'm pretty sure I've sharded a few of those already (and can't check because the API's down again) but again, should be easy enough to pick one up, and if it all goes horribly wrong then it's craftable. EDIT: apparently there's a Close To Melee glaive in the free track of the season pass.

So the API is off again due to issues with the seasonal exotic.

Quote

Since the release of Revision Zero, the team has been monitoring a rise in error codes. A bug deep in the way that the new exotic was set up is causing some pretty gnarly game/API issues, resulting in full server crashes (which boots hundreds of people at a given time).

This could also result in the final moments before an error not being recorded leading to reports of a triumph not being honored or a drop being lost. In the last couple days, the team has gotten closer to identifying the root issue, but we were faced with a few options.

1: Disable new exotic entirely which may not prevent the overall issue.

2: Disable the API which will make transferring weapons a bit more difficult

3: Do nothing while the team continues to investigate a potential fix and continue to watch players hit error codes.

Option 2 felt to be best. While we understand the inconvenience, this not only lets players continue to engage with the new mission and exotic, but also prevents the continued onslaught of errors and missing item reports.

I can imagine how messy things have gotten over the years adding more and more competing trackers etc, but it crashing the entire server seems particularly horrendous. I'd love some more technical details at something like GDC after the game is sunset on how these things got coupled.
