Did someone say Titan build?

Looks pretty friendly build-wise too given Synthoceps is one of the easier exotics to come by, likewise Tractor Cannon, and the mod requirements are very flexible. Requires the new seasonal solar glaive with Close To Melee and I'm pretty sure I've sharded a few of those already (and can't check because the API's down again) but again, should be easy enough to pick one up, and if it all goes horribly wrong then it's craftable. EDIT: apparently there's a Close To Melee glaive in the free track of the season pass.

I talked @pixelcult (my brother and regular co-op ally) into going back to Vox Obscura and we finally completed it the other day. In my efforts to go through it on my own I could barely survive that initial approach outside, so I didn't know how much of the mission I'd still need to learn. However, there are only about two or three "parts" to the whole thing - clearing the outside approach, doing the Psion Codewarden hack bits and leaving enough time for the boss - so it felt a lot more condensed than some of the more epic exotic missions. Given that I was learning as I went along I thought we did pretty well. :D

I'm quite enjoying the current season. I'd fallen off completely for the Pirate stuff, just didn't do anything other than a weekly raid, but I'm reasonably up to speed on the current one. The -5 power for the seasonal does make it a little more interesting, none of the main stuff required too much busywork, and the new Exotic mission is quite decent. Not enjoying the API being broken, mind you. And I'm not a fan of the Dungeon, either.

Any advice on getting the two precision headshots with a sniper rifle medal in crucible? Aside from 'git gud'?

Hide at the back of big maps and get lucky. Control helps, as you know people will be heading towards uncaptured points. I was hiding in the little alcove all the way across from A in Widow's Court as a max invisibility Graviton Forfeit hunter. Got my second kill on people popping out of the stairs towards A after Shaxx called the game

Pulse rifles do feel pretty underweight at the moment; you can absolutely rip through adds with a hand cannon or a scout rifle, but pulses feel like they’re not quite doing enough damage unless you use something like Outbreak Prime. Most things apart from pulse rifles quite powerful at the moment, so I can see why Bungie are reluctant to buff them for fear of power creeping everything out of control.

Still, the champion mods this season mean it’s worth pairing a pulse with a grenade launcher for the seasonal activity. It’s quite a fun combo, and there are loads of interesting weapons to try out (Outbreak, No Time to Explain, the Prospector, Explosive Personality, Salvagers Salvo, etc).

For fun?

Are you quite mad? Getting exotic catalysts has never been fun! Though, admitedly, this seems less egregious than the usual 'kill x number of enemies until you never want to see the weapon again.' The Seraph mission was enjoyable enough but I don't really want to play it three more times just to boost a weapon that's 'eh.' Especially due to Bungie's steadfast refusal to implement legendary match making.

Doing Seraph whatsit on legendary is like doing a dungeon. That's where the fun is. Unless you don't find smashing your testicles in a drawer fun, obviously.

Seraph is harder on legendary as a fireteam than solo due to the limited respawns and the agressive toughening of the enemies. Similar to the witch Queen campaign actually.

Solo with no such limits and the extra damage class mod equipped it’s actually a really good mission that’s just tricky enough to make things exciting without being too frustrating (although I did need to switch from my usual Statis to a Void Hunter build for the final boss as needed the invisi crutch!!)

If you wanna use fire Titan then I’d be hunting down the Lorely Splendour helmet from a legend lost sector (might come at the end of the Witch queen Campaign too but it’ll have shit rolls). But I will guarantee you will never die again wearing that thing. In general, your play is built around the exotic you’re wearing.

Maximise as much resilience (100 is basically invincibility) as possible, then recovery then either strength or discipline depending on if you like punching or grenades more. See if https://d2armorpicker.com/#/login can help maximise your stats.

Your guns are whatever you like to use the most, something to smash something far away, something to smash something closer, something to smash a lot of things very quickly. Never double primary! Whatever makes you happy.

edit- soz all covered by @Uncle Mike

I am fairly sure you have to finish the Legendary WQ Campaign before it’s available through the Lost Sectors. In fact I think I read something that said if Lorely is what you want, select the other option at end of Legendary WQ Campaign and you’ll then be guaranteed Lorely from the Lost Sector and with better stats than the WQ one.

You don’t need to complete the Witch Queen campaign on legendary to get Lorelei Splendour - I’ve got it, and I haven’t done the campaign on legendary. I think you get a choice of exotic armour when you finish the campaign, and then the other pieces are random drops on solo Lost Sectors.

I'm no way good enough to solo a lost sector on legendary!

You need to be 1580 for legendary lost sectors (current hard cap rather than Pinnacle cap so 10 under max excluding artefact levels) and you need to do them solo to get a chance at the exotic drop but the Legendary Witch Queen campaign has you locked at 1350 with enemies 10 over you so can be done at any time.

As I noted earlier the Legendary campaign is actually easier solo then in a group due to the way the difficulty scales with more players and the limited revive mechanic.

All I need is that glaive and I can pull this off. I just been using an unstoppable handcannon with arbalest and a solar linear untill now, which is only really useful on the eyeball boss. Usually dont die even in Legend runs, and had some people I lfg'd with comment on swapping to Titan from Hunter due to how OP it looked

I must be REALLY shit then!

I said easier rather than easy 😊

You can’t brute force your way through the legendary WQ campaign via higher light levels as you are capped at 1350 so it is basically a question of your build and well how you fare against the games mechanics.

However unlike the other ‘hard’ content in Destiny which will waste you in seconds if you are not levelled correctly it is doable regardless of your gear, just tricky.

Basically it’s like Heroic in Halo (not quite as hard as Legendary in that game I’d say).

Objectively it’s harder with more people due to the mechanics although if you are playing with people with better builds and guns then you currently have you might find it ‘easier’.

Stab stab stab stabby mans remain undefeated (but as with everything it’s a bit of player input too. Seen some hammer tossers with the same set up constantly dying right after complaining “they can’t find their hammer”).

Also, pulses seem amazing this season? I picked up the seasonal pulse 2-3 games ago and it’s already lazering. It’s got some lovely perks (Kill Clip).

As I said, there's a glaive in the season pass with Close To Melee on it. The build's kinda crazy though I do have the hammer recall issue @mikeyl refers to haha.

Pulses are indeed v nice in Crucible at the moment but they're pretty useless in PVE. Excited to give Veles-X a spin though.

Outbreak would feel great even without the little space winnits that spawn when you get precision kills, but those are just wonderfully satisfying. Easily the best pulse rifle.

Revision Zero is a nice idea and the route to getting and upgrading it is fantastic - Seraph's Shield is a great mission, and the legendary version is just the right side of challenging - but the gun itself is a bit underwhelming. The exotic aspect is sort of a mix of the old D1 Khvostov and the Mida Multi-Tool, in that it's just a good example of that archetype with the ability to switch out perks and features, but the gun itself doesn't feel that amazing to use. The core of it (at the moment anyway) is a pulse rifle with feeding frenzy, which is ultimately not that exciting. The way you can charge up super-powerful sniper rounds is quite cool, but it takes forever to build up that targeting data bar. I'm getting Bad Ju-Ju vibes from it, in that it's OK but feels a bit feeble.

I was sort of hoping that each selectable catalyst would give it a different exotic perk, rather than each one just being a pretty standard gun perk. I find it a bit hard to get too exercised about unlocking Outlaw given that it does much the same thing as Feeding Frenzy (although I will dutifully do it, like the Destiny sap I am).

It's everything about it. It looks wicked, it feels great and the CHUUUUP when you precision something and it spawns the nanites makes my soul sing. IT'S SO GOOD.

I solved the hammer issue with a BXR with Pugilist and Incandescent (the Kingsfall hc I use has Incandescent too) so you get your melee back quick even if you lose your hammer. Just have to kill a few dudes (and pick up some wells too) to get back in the game.
