It’s not too bad if you just do the weekly comp playlist. Think I got it done in the 2nd week accidentally after about 6 games of Rift.

 

But did see that they seriously reduced the requirements for a bunch of triumphs and seals again. Lol because it took me fucking ages to grind out that absolutely based Iron Banner shader last week. Now you can do it in a quarter of the time. Ok fine!

Sorry, am going to be that guy, the one trying to understand cross-save/buy

 

I bought and played WQ on XB but want to play on PS now too. It seems the 'dungeon key' is unlocked on my PS5 but I need to go back and buy the 21st Anniversary Pack and Witch Queen base game? Is that right? Is the Deluxe Version just the base game+dungeons? or was there other bits that are going to not work if I just buy the base? The deluxe is twice the price (and still £70!). I may just end up waiting for a special deal when Lightfall comes but fuck me if it shouldn't be way easier than this...

Deluxe edition was expansion, 4 season passes and dungeon key (and some digital cosmetic tat. Osteo Stringer was also originally locked to deluxe but subsequently available to all)

 

The season passes and the dungeon key are cross platform so if you had deluxe Xbox they don’t need to be bought again so you are fine to just buy normal edition of Witch Queen for PS.

 

Unless you are desperate to play Grasp of Avarice on PlayStation I wouldn’t bother to buy the Anniversary pack again. If you’ve unlocked Gally and have it on your character or vault on Xbox it will work on other platforms and the rest of the pack was just more cosmetic stuff.

This is only the 2nd weeks it’s been rift isn’t it?

 

Also what have they done to shader?

It annoyingly comes up in the Competitive playlist (which is really worth doing if doing pinnacles rather than the 6v6 playlist as it scales better to your skills and you get to roll a Rose handgun out of it).

 

They increased the rank points you get so it’ll be much much faster to reset IB ranks to get to the shader.

Didn’t mind as probably away the next time IB comes round but yeah there was a thing last season about killing a million champions for a seal, I was like lol no way, then one day it autocompleted and I must’ve only done about 5.

Has anyone done these nodes across Europa/Moon/Seraph for title?

 

Is there duplicate/bad luck protection? There doesn't seem to be a way to delete a key and try again if you've got the node and I don't want to be going to the end of seraph mission to reset if there isnt

 

Edit - Nvm just seen the 50 drones one. Fuck that. Seraphs not even a good title.

Are these the ones that you shoot with exotic pulse? You'll have separate triumphs for europa, moon, each heist..etc. it doesn't take too long and it opens up a new area in the exotic mission plus the chance to buy a plush from bungie that you'll get in 2 years time

I think you just get one at a time and have to do the next in line. I’ve not had any duplicates yet and only have 3 to go.

 

Currently have the one at the end of the Seraph but been putting off running it again as had to do it about 3 times last week doing the drones too.

 

Drones isn’t too bad, got it all done in an afternoon. Use the heists on the planets rather than the playlist, everyone in there seems to be doing the drones and then it’s two runs through Seraph Station which you can do on normal (and is a bit of a doddle once you’ve done it a few times, unlike Legendary).

 

The reward is great 😊

Seasonal quest finished on a bit of a whimper, go retrieve this very secret data…thanks for that, no I’m not going to tell you what it says.

 

Not even clear if Rasputin is fully ‘fixed’.

 

We’re not getting the conclusion until the last two weeks of the season where everyone is getting a new mission or two and there will be a new activity but a bit rubbish to give no conclusion to the seasonal quest.

 

I assume the secret data relates to the hidden city on Neptune given Osiris interrogating Rasputin about it in one the radio messages.

I don't expect anything from the seasonal stories now. For some reason they just seem to peter out ever single time.

 

Add to that they either don't have the time or the money to get everyone voiced (like the bizarre Zavala's office scene or Ghosts ongoing muteness) and I do wonder if they're a bit like Gromit in The Wrong Trousers laying tracks in front of the train.

 

Maybe now they have that sweet Sony dollar they can do a bit more with the season post Lightfall.

I liked the weekly story in places. Ana/Rasputin vs. Clovis the other week was fun, but this conclusion felt a bit "uhhh we've still got a week of this quest what can we do" :P

Yeah I thought this seasons story was quite well done up to the abrupt ending…although thinking Clovis up to anything other than no good was a bit of an amateur mistake from all concerned but nice to get some more back story on what Rasputin was originally intended to do.

 

Certainly an improvement on last seasons pointless Pirate escapades

Nah, right at the start Ana basically said "Oh he'll betray us somehow, it's just a case of when."

 

Aside: I went down the rabbit hole on Reddit as you why Rasputin sounds like Clovis but Banshee doesn't. That was a fun read of pedantry and ignorance as to how digital recordings work.

The 54 part weekly stuff might be over - but there's still the climax to come

All looks really good. Seems to be giving us the tools to experiment whilst removing a lot of the faff and the reliance on 3rd party tools. 
 

Been enjoying playing again after a long break. Ripped through the Seraph story and just did the Seraph Shield legend last night. Was tough but realised I hadn’t equipped that solo power buff mod like a twat. I’m even going back and enjoying the Pirate stuff which by all accounts people hated.

Oh man, those mod / loadout changes sound good, especially the bit about artifact mods being passive unlocks rather than stuff you have to specifically equip. It's such an obvious idea when they explain it that I almost wonder why they haven't done it already.

It does sound positive but there are a few erms in there I'm not sure about. The fact that not everything will be in the game at Lightfall launch is a bit worrying. I suppose it depends on just how far back they're paring things for launch, but it seems to me a thorough enough streamlining as it is that the only reason for holding anything back is for engagement / retention over time. Two new mods this week pals, don't forget to log in!

 

The Champion changes are cool though, I've never really taken to the weapon-specific system they use apart from the rare season when the artifact mods align with the guns I'm actually using. Having a subclass-related stun mechanic is a really nice idea though so fair play. 

 

But yeah, some good, thoughtful and long overdue stuff all in all, looking forward to it.

Glad they are stating they are tackling removing, or at least reducing blues (although sure I've heard this before).

 

I feel like I'm done with this season, despite not having the seal. I need to do at least ten more heists, and I'm just not finding them interesting enough to do that many more.

 

Seraph's Shield I've grown to really like now that can get a run done fairly quickly. Even with the catalyst though I can't see me bothering using that exotic though. Has anyone even bothered attempting to get the flawless? It seemed like they made it harder this week, or at least the final boss pathfinding improved as he was wandering around much more of the area.

I have more than 150 loadouts in DIM. Every interesting and worthwhile exotic pretty much needs a loadout to do its thing well (and multiple for the ones which work just as well across multiple subclasses, like Assassin's Cowl and Heart of Inmost Light) and many have multiple different viable ways to set them up for different activities. This 10 loadout slots per character oh and you also have to unlock them business ain't it. Monster Hunter lets you have more than 200! :quote:

Yeah, that's the second toughest encounter in the mission (toughest is the boss fight itself). If you listen out for them, you can hear the swordy boys when they're near. As a void warlock I just overcharge a grenade and dump it at my feet, it kills them quickly, instantly starts healing, and with Well of Tenacity I get 3 x resistance from the void wells dropping.
