Owning all good N64 games

There's a trinity of great um, sport/race games on N64 in the form of:

Wave Race 64

1080

Excitebike 64

Definitely buy the latter two. 1080 Snowboarding is, for my money, the best sports 'racing' game for the N64. The graphics are dated, but the sensation of sliding over snow and ice still feels incredible.

BEARING IN MIND i hate sports games and racing games (hence no MK64).
Mario Kart 64, Wave Race, 1080, Excitebike, Snowboard Kids, Rush 2049...

Well done.

If I were replying to this thread I probably wouldn't have seen that either, really.

Smeg, 61 replies in 1 night. Well, I'm considering Tetrisphere, I've seen it about and it looks quite nice. And Body Harvest, people keep saying thats great but it doesnt look to good by screenies.

What about the Mystical Ninja games? They have both in one of my Gamestations.

Very good call. This is an amazing game. Genuinely hilarious at stages. You gotta love Mr Wiseman getting pissed off at the prospect of ruining his car magazines when the alien dance troupe bomb his house.

Is it "£18" good?

I'm only kidding <_< It's called GOEMON though, I apologise. I found a couple cheaper than that, under a tenner each. I think it may be worth that money alone for that giant robot singing and dancing, and the intro song in full speach

Damn. That really is a classic game. It has 3 fully vocalised song and dance numbers I think. And a soup swimming level. It's cool, it's cool, it's cool. I might play it tonight actually. I never had a memory pack at the time so whenever I played it I had to play right the way through. I completed it about 8 times I reckon.

Did Sin and Punishment get a PAL release?

Oh, sorry- unfortunately not. But you can probably pick it up for about £35 on ebay or something, and the import convertors are relatively cheap. It's a very good game though, kind of like an on-rails 3D version of Bangai-o. If that makes any sense.

(Oh and Mystical Ninja 2 is okay, just your standard 2D platforming fare. Nothing special. Although it has some great one-liners thanks to the dodgy translation, plus you can give each other piggybacks and ride wooden horses around.)

Loads of great games have been mentioned, although out of the lesser known titles I have to recomend Rush 2019, Forsaken, TWINE and Body Harvest (was this made by the same team as the people who did the GTA games, it is quite similar).

Also, not yet mentioned but Roadsters was a fantastic racing game with lovely cars and graphics and some genunine sense of speed and I always enjoyed Rainbow 6 although I never had the PC version to compare to. Also has anyone mentioned Smash Brothers and F-zero yet, they are both class games.

Goemon is brilliant, especially the bit of sound when the clown guy comes in 'Oooo!? do doododod' etc And the robot stuff is great, they could have really over done it, but they didnt, got it just right. Did find the graphics to be very crap, but for an early n64 game its great fun to play and totally wacky, especially having a narrator and an audience telling the story and laughing.

I cant really mention any more games, think everyones mentioned the best ones.

Goeman legend of the mystical ninja was great (if somewhat short) but i never did get round to checking out the sequel is it any good?

second one is dissapointing... its good... well avrage with some HARD levels... really hard.. Its reterned to 2d with 3d graphics that looks good.. has a useless night and day system... only for fans i guess... i do like it but its far from the best...

I loved that minigame where you played Ebisimaru and you were shrunk down. You had to run behind the (now giant) objects in a cupboard and every now and again this giant would peer in and try and catch you.

In fact, everything about the game was just amazing. Including the sections you played as a mech. And running up the back of a dragon who was flying. It's all coming back now!
