Is anyone else finding the store and Gamepass a bit flaky? I cannot see any games on Gamepass and my home screen just has tips on it. I've restarted the SX but it's not helped at all.

Just tried them for you matey and they're both working as they should at my end.

EDIT Just did a status check here: https://support.xbox.com/en-GB/xbox-live-status and it says Store and Gamepass are fine but does report that Destiny (1 & 2) is having some routine maintenance performed on it between 13:00 and 18:00.

Maybe do a full reset of your X if it continues?

Think it might have to be plug out time.

I spent last night playing As Dusk Falls. While I love the actual art style I'm not very keen on the slideshow animation. The lack of animation a bit hard to figure out which character was talking as some of the male characters have similar voices, so I ended up turning on the subtitles just to make sure I knew whow was saying what.

That said, though, the game is actually really good. The story is quite intense, perhaps a bit heavy on clichès but overall there's stuff happening all the time. Voice acting is generally superb and the characters are mostly great with some really memorable stuff unfolding while you least expect it.

It didn't take long for me to realize I was playing a Quantic Dream game (not an actual QD game but the devs are ex QD and it really shows as you progress). What was interesting to me, though, is that the lack of cinematic cutscenes makes this a much better experience. The classic QD games were pretty much "I wish I was a movie" flavoured while this is a lot more "I wanna tell a good story" focused.

The lack of actual gameplay might put people off, but the choices you make and the way the story is branching it seems some of the choices actually make an impact on the rest of the game.

Yep! I put As Dusk Falls on for a quick go before bed. It’s now 4:40 in the morning. 😂 Time’s flown by, been totally gripped by what’s going to happen next, so not been able to switch it off. Some of the choices are real edge of the seat stuff and have left me wincing at whether I’d made the right decisions, for how I wanted things to pan out.  Didn’t realise it was ex QD staff. Makes a lot of sense.

Whilst it’s basically a “choose your own adventure”, interactive film affair, what it’s actually doing is great and really enjoyable. Whereas I’ve also been playing Stray on PS5 which actually feels like it has far less “gameplay” to it and is way more shallow than than this. Weird one!

Hopefully this maintains the quality of the first few hrs and the story holds up well. If so, seems like it’ll be a great game!

I am loving all these simulator games. I typed simulator into the store the other night, after a long session on House Flipper, and found Bus Simulator! I hope that comes to GP.

More than anything though, I wish they'd port Euro/America Truck Simulator to consoles. My laptop can't quite run them well enough to be enjoyable.

Yeah, As Dusk Falls seems to be an apt title for this game but a more fitting one would possibly be From Dusk to Dawn as that's been my last couple of sessions I've had with it

I think I'm getting close to the end now and it keeps on giving. This has been a surprise hit for me.

Can someone help me out please?

I've just bought and redeemed a load of Xbox Live 3 & 6 month codes from CD Keys (I realised as I was buying the 3 month codes, that the 6 month codes are actually better value) and made sure recurring billing was off, but when I go my subscriptions on xbox.com and try to upgrade to Game Pass Ultimate it's telling me to 'Join £10.99/month'. It's also doing the same on my console; see image below.

I'm hoping I'm just doing something wrong and they haven't finally closed this method down.

Click it and it'll convert your Live to Ultimate for £10.99.

Ah, thanks!

CD Keys have actually only sent me 2 year's worth of codes, so I need their customer support to sort that first, but it's good to know it'll convert once I've got all 3 years stacked.

I did this last week and the 3 month codes were better value, the 6 month codes were a quid more and 2 x 3 month codes per order.

For the future, if you accept recurring billing each time you get a free month. When I had to upgrade, I realised buying 1 month of GPU was cheaper than the MS fee, so I redeemed that and now I'm good till August 2025.

It’s £4.99 for 3 months and £8.99 for 6 months at the moment, which I only realised after I’d bought 8 x 3 months, so I got 2 x 6 months for the final 2.

I should have worked it out to get as many free months for leaving recurring billing on as I could, but like you say, it’s something to think about next time. If the offer is still available then.

On CDKeys? It's saying £5.99 for 3 months and £10.99 for 6 months for me.

But yeah, I ended up buying one too many 3 month codes cos I didn't realise the 6 months was just 2 x 3 in the email. Oops.

Yeah, definitely £8.99 for me…

It's very compelling. I'll finish it for sure now but I really don't think it's much of a game. It could easily have been done as a Netflix interactive movie.

Just coming to the end of Ninja Gaiden now. I had it back in the day on OG Xbox and I never finished it as I found it so hard. But coming back to it after the Souls games has really helped me get through it this time and it’s such a joy to play. Amazing combat and such a great feeling of weight and inertia to the character. Feels like unfinished business after all these years.

Really really recommend revisiting or playing it for the first time. It’s aged brilliantly.

Just to ask on this, has anyone had any problems with CD Keys before? I know it’s Sunday, but was just wondering how long they usually take to get back to you.

How was it facing that bitch with the wings,  in the church?

Cos I was stuck there for days when it first came out. Got past her mind.

Bit surprised there hasn't been much talk around As Dusk Falls. Played Chapter 1 tonight and once I got used to the sightly odd art/animation style (took about 10 minutes) I was completely gripped for the next hour or so. It rattles along at a good old clip and presents you with a series of some of the most engaging choices I think I can remember in these kind of games. Mostly all killer and none of the David Cage nonsense filler, or even a lot of the filler-ish stuff from Until Dawn/The Quarry. Hope it can keep it up.

As Dusk Falls is alright, but I'm finding myself falling asleep playing it, which is never a good sign. Also it's utterly ridiculous, and falls into a lot of the same traps as a lot of these 'choose you're own adventure' narratives do, which is the limited scope of choices feels pedestrian and then those characters make massive choices without any input from the player.
