We done got robbed as well in last seasons cup and it spurred us on and gave us our mortal enemy for the season, even if the feeling was only one way. :lol: 

 

Even though I would say we deserved the win, we didnt blow them away by any means! We played far far better in practice, but the shift in quality of the opposition defending from playing against random clubs to last night was massive, no time on the ball at all, options closed out quickly and we just didnt adjust against that well enough. ><

 

I was really poor last night, it was one of them ones where you are having a bit of a 'mare so you try and keep it simple, but then even the simple stuff becomes hard.

 

 

 

I was so convinced I was having a poor night I even took responsibility for that first goal we conceded against that random club team. Absolute mug. :lol:

Yeah I missed a couple chances last night that I shouldn't be fucking missing and my runs wasn't the best , but it's a lot harder playing 9 v 9 then it was with the numbers last season. No one actually stays in there position in clubs so when you got 5/6 people all chasing the same ball it does become pretty frustrating and overcrowded ! ... Yesterday means nothing will be a good season !

Yeah your spot on, its times like that we have to have a bit of calm about us, stick to our position and find the space on the pitch.

 

It all just gets a bit frantic because if we have 5 people all sprinting and converging on the goal, then the opposition defense has 6/8 people converging in the same area, it becomes a narrow overcrowded mess. Where as if we stay wide for example, then we either keep a guy pulled out wide, or if the defender pulls in narrow with the rest of his team, then we find the space!

 

It'll come, we've got a damn good team. The defense was excellent last night.

Thought we played well last night although why did I keep getting the corners and some of the free kicks? Do I need to change something my end?

If your guy is a full back he probably has the best crossing stats on the team, so the game is putting you on them! I dont think there is much you can do about it I'm afraid.

We don't usually play a great deal on the weekends, I think a few of the lads tend to get distracted by weekend league.

 

Weekday nights are usually best, I'd say Mondays/Tuesdays/Wednesdays tend to be the most popular, saying that I'm away with work tonight but am about Tuesday/Wednesday.
