@Harsin I think Glixel spoke a bit about that on their podcast - how Microsoft's failure to invest in their own first party stuff is "coming home to roost" as they put it. Things definitely look a bit slim at the moment and it looks like after Forza 7, Crackdown 3 and Sea of Thieves, we're waiting on what, FH4 and Halo 6? I'd like to think they've got more on the way than that. The One X puts them firmly as the best place to play third party games now, but they really need to shore that up with some more varied first party big hitters.

On a side note, 343 said they wouldn't be showing Halo 6 but there would be something from them. Anyone seen anything at the show from them?

Spencer is on Giant Bomb at Nite (Nite 2). He's first guest on the show.

Very smart guy and comes across as probably the most genuine exec in gaming at the moment. What he's got to say about game pass and how he sits into the changing model of gaming is interesting.

Listening to this guy talk makes me want a One X more than anything they've shown at E3 so far.

They revealed their campaign DLC for Halo Wars 2 on Monday.

That's disappointing :( Going into the show, you'd hope their reveal would be anything but something related to Halo Wars 2 :( This year being the tenth anniversary of Halo 3 one would hope for, you know, a surprise Halo 3 Anniversary announcement. Or something interesting related to Halo 3 at least.

Halo3 on MCC is good enough that putting further money into tarting it up some more seems a waste.

Going forward I'd like to see them start decoupling SP and MP for titles like MCC/Halo5 and Gears because the HDD footprints are already out of control and only going to get worse with 4K assets coming down the line. By the time all the Gears maps are released plus 4k gubbins we could be over 150GB.

Well, yeah, I understand what you're saying about Halo 3 on MCC but from my selfish point of view I would have liked to see Microsoft at least acknowledge the anniversary of one of the best Halo games ever made* :)

Totally agree with your second point, I would like to see every game on every platform do that. Let people choose whether they want to download just the sp, just the mp, or both. Saves bandwidth for everyone involved.

*Behind CE and Reach of course

Frank O'Connor said that they definitely wouldn't be doing Halo 3 Anniversary; IIRC, the reason he gave was "diminishing returns", so possibly a combination of Halo 3 already looking pretty good, and the MCC having a pretty mixed reception.

I can see why they wouldn't want to spend shedloads of money and resource on beefing up Halo 3 by a relatively small amount, but it would be nice to see a few improvements to the game - even in 2007, some of Halo 3 looked a bit ropey, like the human characters' faces. Reach is probably the Halo game that's most in need of a remaster - it looks great on BC, but would be nice if it was done up to the same standard as the rest of the MCC.

Halo 3 looks great on MCC, I'm not fussed about another remake for it. They're making some Halo 3 playlist on the Halo 5 multiplayer with the abilities stripped out, movement speed modified and forged maps so I'm looking forward to blasting on Pit, Guardian etc.

I can't see 343i doing any more remastering for a while, MCC is a fairly packed game. Almost certainly Halo 6 will be shown next year.
