Metroid 1 is unlocked in Prime, and Zero Mission, but not Fusion.

Also if you have two GBAs and link Fusion and Zero Mission together you unlock all the Fusion art galleries in ZM, including the Japan-only ones telling Samus' official backstory.

Spoiler

Looking at that maybe they'll finally confirm Mother Brains/Aurora Units to be Chozo constructs. Those Aeion Abilities look a bit key-lock-ish. Hopefully they'll have more applications beyond the obvious.

I'll be gutted if this doesn't run at 60fps on a N3DS. Plenty of games run at 30fps on an O3DS whilst switching up to 60 on New models so I don't think it's unreasonable to expect the same for this, even with the 3D on. It's a super late generation release after all.

Have they said anything about the performance on a regular 3DS(XL) yet?

Just managed to grab this for only €35 even. :)

Great review from Nintendo Life though. I'm still all in.

You're always gonna get the odd negative tone from one or two reviewers, regardless of how many others sing a title's praises. I do think it's a shame to see Eurogamer single out Mercurystream's supposed bad history though. Everything Ive seen thus far point to them being very respectful and understanding of Metroid and its heritage.

Mark Brown and Jeremy Parish both had misgivings, too. And, um, me.

Well, it is a complex issue.

It's not only that MercurySteam is doing a remake, they're also doing a remake of Metroid II of all games... Deviate from the linearity and its not M2, don't retread ZM/Super and people will scream the devs don't understand Metroid. Go combat heavy and people will moan as they did with Echoes. I'm kind of fearful this title will become "anOther M" debacle, with the fans cutting right through to the heart and discovering a diluted Metroid-experience (especially when compared to AM2R) in drags, while whatever writer is out there and slightly pro-Nintendo will rate it sky-high because it's Metroid and not Federation Force.

That said, I really dislike its graphics and understand the Samus cosplay remarks. She really does look horrid and even the rendered artwork is intensely ugly.

I'll get it regardless, because Metroid, but if this fails, I can't really be bothered because AM2R exists in this reality (which has its own share of issues btw).

Parish's review managed to put me off on the game so I'll hold out on it for the time being.

Prime 4 is coming as well and I've wanted to replay Zero Mission anyway. That way I can compare it to AM2R which hasn't really impressed me.

This game turning into a shitstorm like Other M I don't see happening. The complaints with that hame always focused on the story problems and horrid rewriting of Samus's character.
