Got my preorder in at a Game store this morning!

I don't mind the £50 deposit too much if it helps to cut down on scalpers but under normal circumstances it would be ridiculous.

The guy in the shop said there were around 7000 units allocated to stores.

Took me and my sister about 2 years to finish the game when we were kids. Now i could probably complete it in 2 hours or so! (all exits). Such a great game.

2 years?  LOL it took me a day to finish, 4 to get all 96 levels/exits.

You gave game £50, and they gave you nothing except a promise.

I'm beyond gutted to miss this one. The NES one was so easy to buy on pre-order!

Hopefully I'm online during one of these 5 minute windows to get one. I've a feeling these are going to disappear off the face of the Earth in short order.

I really hope scalpers get fucked over by this release. Would be fantastic if Nintendo exceeded all expectations and these were actually in continued plentiful supply. We can but dream I suppose.

How comes Nintendo stopped production of the NES mini? It was still heavily in demand, do they not like money?

Am I the only one who liked the aesthetics of the US SNES? When it comes to US console design abominations it hardly compares to the Turbo Grafx.

And I thought people who preferred the grey Switch over the neon were bad.

CEO Reggie Fils-Aime later stated that "We just didn't anticipate how incredible the response would be", but they had to discontinue the unit as "we've got a lot going on right now and we don’t have unlimited resources."

According to Eurogamer, the discontinuation of the NES Classic was in part to transition the production line to a Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) Classic system designed similarly to the NES Classic but featuring games from the SNES, to be launched later 2017; at this point in time, in April 2017, Nintendo had not confirmed this information

I think you need to book out blocks of time in Foxconn or whoevers schedule in advance so they can produce what you need. I suppose they had booked out a limited time for what they thought would be a niche product. Hopefully those hellholes in china are pumping out this new snes like they are iPhones.

I don't see why they're talking about only making this one until the end of the year though. The NES was probably a victim of bad forecasting, but for the SNES they can probably just keep going until they need to start cranking out the N64 one next year

I'm certain the NES Mini will return, possibly with a slightly changed set of games or two pads or something to differentiate it from last years model. Nintendo know there's shitloads of money on the table.

So it won't happen who am I kidding lol

Gameboy classic next. Thirty games included, backlit screen. You heard it here first.

I'll so be getting one if it was original DMG style

It'll just be a cardboard surround for your TV and a special DVD/Bluray,

with a Super Mario Land speed run on repeat.

Nintendo can be so village.  They could sort shit like this out by working with the right people.

If Nintendo were clever you would get a code in the box to unlock the games on the now (when snes mini is out) launched VC store in Switch - great sell up opportunity and if course never gonna happen :(

US snes defi has a place in my heart, it's obv not as pretty as the EU/JP unit but I still love it and was the last Snes I owned - the concave buttons are better even if the colors were not.

Im going to have to pick up a Snes again - easily my fave console and never going to be surpassed as it was the one I grew up with and had so many hours playing with mates on

Managed to get a pre-order at GAME and Amazon within a few minutes of seeing Nintendo's facebook announcement...didnt even wait to see what the price was or what games were on it.

Was going to keep one sealed and play the other one but my best mate was too slow, so he's having it off me. Only charging him an extra £50. He's well chuffed, but that's what mates are for I suppose.

I paid £99 on eBay for the NES Classic as soon as I saw the discontinuance notice, it was £200 within an hour from the same seller.

You gotta be fast guys!
